Bread Machine Focaccia

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2014
Would have given this a 5 star rating, but the bread had a hard crust, which is not very focaccia-like. Possibly it should be baked at a lower temp, or given more of a chance to raise in the pan.

Golden Egg Bread

Large, dense, eggy- delicious bread. Will make again for Easter. This would be excellent used to make bread pudding.

Buttery Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2014
I have made this several times, and always have good luck. Using the bread machine to knead the dough makes preparation a breeze, and I add extra bits of butter to the top of the rolls for extra buttery goodness.

Sangria! Sangria!

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2014
I first prepared this for a Christmas get together 2 years ago, quadrupling the recipe so I would have plenty. Everyone loved it, and there was some leftovers I used a week later for another party. It was still delicious. The secret is to let the flavors develop, and depending on how bitter the peel is on your citrus fruit, will last a couple of weeks.

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2013
These weren't as dense as the cookie batter I remember, but were excellent when baked. Make sure to really squash the fork into the cookie before baking or you will lose the indents that a classic peanut butter cookie must have. Will make this one again.

Oatmeal-Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2013
Yummy cookies filled with chocolate chips and nuts- who could ask for more? Ate 4 right out of the oven and didn't feel a bit guilty. Will make again.

English Muffin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2012
I made this bread to give as a gift with some homemade jam. The recipient and his spouse told me they sliced it thinner and thinner so they could make it last. Will add this to my bread making repertory.

Cinnamon Swirl Bread for the Bread Machine

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2012
This made two wonderful loaves of goodness. Next time I will roll the dough tighter, as my bread was rather holey, but this did not affect the flavor or the amount of time it took for the bread to be devoured! A definite keeper!

Sausage Hash

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2012
Husband loved it, but I thought it lacked flavor. Would be good with a cooked egg on top, which I may try if I make this again.

Margaritas on the Rocks

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
This recipe was a little too sweet for me. I like more of a fresh lime taste than a sugary sweet taste. ** Update: I wanted to use up the leftover ingredients, so made another batch the next day. Instead of stirring the ingredients in a pitcher as I did the first time, the second time I used the blender. The mix splashed up and out of the pitcher and created a foamy, frothy drink which I had to allow to sit until it became liquid again and therefore pour-able/drinkable. Did not like the directions or the flavor. To each his own...

Brownie Bread

Reviewed: May 12, 2009
The idea of chocolate flavored bread is somewhat weird, but toasted with a smear of peanut butter makes this bread interesting. I had hoped it would be sweeter...

Bread Machine Bagels

Reviewed: May 12, 2009
I have used this recipe several times and each time it turns out great. These have become my favorite bagles- both for the appropriate serving size (not those truck-size grocery store bagles) and the ease of preparation. I've even expanded the topping options to include garlic (brown a few minced cloves in olive oil) and asiago cheese. Paired with some home prepared cream cheese using herbs from my garden, this is a little bit of heaven on earth!

Sun Dried Tomato Focaccia

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2008
This dough was very sticky, but it lead to a delicious loaf of focaccia. I used fresh rosemary and incorporated it into the dough instead of sprinkling it on top. Then I used fresh garlic and a couple of pinches of salt instead of the garlic salt. 1 cup of mozerella seemet like a lot, so I decreased it to 1/4 to 1/3 cup, and grated fresh parmesan cheese over the top. When I first tasted this bread I thought it was too sweet; after a few bites I was hooked. I can't leave it alone!

Crusty Potato Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2008
This is a dense, chewy substitute for the expensive potato bread purchased at the grocery. I started this in the bread machine and then cooked it in a loaf pan in the oven. It worked perfectly, and I will definately make this again.
