Candy Corn Bark

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
I took this to a Halloween party and everyone really liked it. It was super sweet but I think that worked well with a large group of people because you would only eat a few pieces. This was extremely easy to make and I liked the fact that I didn't have to bake anything. It also was very festive looking. I made the recipe exactly as stated. The only thing I would maybe change is leaving out the raisins... you could barely tell that they were in there. I also used only about 1 cup of candy corn.

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
This was pretty good. For our personal tastes, we reduced the amount of bacon and cut the dressing in about half (with more available to pour on if we wanted it).

Late-Night Breadsticks

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2008
Made along with some pizza for some friends coming over for dinner. Everyone liked them. I did use double the toppings when I made it (the breadsticks just took that much when I rolled them).

Grilled Chicken and Angel Hair Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
Made 1/2 recipe. Cooked grilled chicken with garlic powder. Used about 1/4 cup Buttoni reduced fat pesto with another spoonful - it was just about the right amount and lowered the fat of the dish. Otherwise, made it according to the directions. It was very good and very easy.

Crunches

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
This is the recipe that one of my friend's moms used to make for us when she had a sleepover. We lived in Arkansas at the time and these were always kept in the refrigerator for us to eat.

Raisin Apple Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2008
I thought this was excellent! Per other reviews, I put in double the cinnamon and about 1 1/2 cups apples. It was quite good. They're good cold and warm. I also used about 1/8 cup applesauce and 1/8 cup oil to cut down on some more fat and calories. Very good. I would highly recommend trying this recipe!

This was quite good. It added more of a flavor to the couscous.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
This was pretty good. I followed a lot of the suggestions in the reviews... used lean ground turkey, dry pkg onion soup instead of onion, put bread on the bottom of the pan to catch grease, mixed ketchup and brown sugar together and put on top of the meatloaf.

Pizza Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
I made this last night for dinner. I kinda used this as a clean out the cupboards meal... used my leftover pepperoni (not nearly as much as called for), leftover ground turkey, leftover onion, leftover egg noodles and leftover cheese (more than called for). It was quite good and very easy to make. I also only used a 14 oz container pizza sauce because that was what I found in the store. This fed two adults for 1 meal and we have probably just enough leftovers for tonight for both of us (with adding some more items). We ate more than I expected.

Best Chicken Ever

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
This was quite good. I used reduced fat sour cream (next time I think I'll use fat free) and mixed in some dry ranch packet dressing. I also put onion powder, garlic powder and Italian seasonings in with the cornflakes. Cooked for about 40 minutes at 400 degrees and it came out quite moist and delicious.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
I've been trying to find a chocolate chip cookie that was soft and would stay soft even when cooled. This one is great! I followed the directions exactly. I did use 1 stick salted butter and 1 stick unsalted. I refrigerated the dough before cooking in the oven. I cooked at the directed temperature for exactly 11 minutes and they were perfect!

Key Lime Pie VII

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
This was pretty good. I did use only 2 cans of condensed milk (which was about 2 1/2 cups). It turned out fine. I might reduce the key lime juice next time since I used slightly less condensed milk. The pie was very full but there wasn't any extra filling. This was definitely a quick and easy recipe and tasted quite good as well!

This was pretty good. I pretty much followed the directions. I did add in a can of kernel corn- which added a nice touch to the rice.

Simple Time Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
This was quite easy and very tasty. My pork chops were small and not incredibly thick, so I only cooked them for 30 minutes. Definitely a recipe that I would make again.

Gourmet Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
I'm giving it 4 stars, but the way I made it I only give it 3 stars. I left out the green onions and used a mixture of cheese instead of the specific ones listed. I did add some Italian seasoning on top of the ranch dressing. We thought it was fine, but we prefer other pizzas over this one. So, we'll probably not make this one again... a little too far from a typical pizza for our tastes.

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
This was AWESOME! I added a bag of broccoli (fresh but cooked in the microwave) and used uncooked shrimp. I tripled the sauce (next time I might do 4x the sauce) except leaving the ginger the original amount and using 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper (we're wimps when it comes to spicy things). This made two very generous servings.
