Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2009
I've been wanting to try this recipe for awhile and finally made it last night. It was great!!! I pretty much followed the directions, but I did add mushrooms (I think next time I'll saute them before adding and add later in the cooking process). I ended up not making the gravy with it, but I definitely think that I'll do that next time although it was still quite flavorful without it. I cooked almost exactly 45 minutes and served it with baked potatoes and broccoli. We really liked this recipe and I'll definitely make it again! Thanks for the recipe!

Cranberry Applesauce Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
These turned out a little tart for my liking. I used frozen cranberries.

Sauteed Garlic Asparagus

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
We enjoyed this recipe although it didn't taste very different that our typical roasted asparagus in the oven, but it's definitely a good option when the oven is full.

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
I made this the other night to go with steak. I did increase the honey and dry mustard. It had a good flavor although I may increase the honey even more next time. I do think that I cooked it too long (my own fault), but besides that, it tasted great.

Marinade for Steak I

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
We made this recipe as stated- but with changing the amount based on our smaller amount of steak. The meat had a great flavor and we definitely liked it. Marinaded it for about 8 hours prior to broiling.

Lemon Garlic Tilapia

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
I made this last night. I added extra garlic, a little less lemon and made sure that I had more butter than lemon. I also sprinkled some bread crumbs on top. This was quite good and decently healthy also! I cooked it at 400 degrees for 12 minutes.

Cinnamon Honey Butter

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2009
This is sooo good! I made this last night to go with some homemade wheat bread and my friend and I both really liked this. I'm planning on using it on waffles tonight. :)

Easy Morning Glory Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
These are quite good! I used 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour and 1/2 cup all purpose flour. I substituted applesauce for the oil (to make it healthier). I omitted the walnuts (personal preference) and reduced the coconut. Even with all my changes, these still turned out great- and healthier than the original! I got 16 muffins out of this recipe. Thanks for the recipe!

This was pretty good. Will probably make again, but next time I might add some extra parmesan.

Chicken and Sausage with Bowties

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2009
This was alright, but not great. I ended up needing more crushed tomatoes than called for (which I did have). It was a decent way to use my extra sausage that I had in the freezer. I'm not sure whether or not I'll make it again. It tasted very Italian (which I like). I did add 1 tsp Italian seasoning and extra garlic, but besides that, I followed the recipe. It did only take me a total of 45 minutes to make (not the hour that it says). I did substitute penne pasta because that was what I had on hand.

Salmon with Brown Sugar Glaze

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
Hubby and I both really liked this one. It was very easy and very good. This is now tied for #1 for our favorite homemade salmon. We'll definitely make this one again. I broiled it for about 10 minutes- next time I'll probably go closer to 11-12 minutes.

Banana Berry Smoothie III

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
This was pretty good. Nothing spectacular, but it was a good smoothie. I had it instead of dessert one night- definitely a healthy and tasty choice! The serving size for this recipe fit into a small glass.

Dry Ranch Style Seasoning for Dip or Dressing

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
This was very good. I tasted it after putting it together and added a little dill weed for some extra flavor. I also added a little extra seasoned salt. I made this as a dip and added 1 3/4 cup sour cream (which was basically a larger container of sour cream) and then a little bit of milk (using the vinegar substitute for buttermilk) but less than the called for amount. We thought it was very good and it definitely saved some money. Thanks for the recipe!

Butter Dip Breadsticks

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
We really liked these. I did add 1/2 cup parmesan cheese to the batter. I also added some garlic powder to the butter and sprinkled some parmesan cheese on top of the breadsticks before baking. I did cut into 1 inch strips instead of 1/2 inch strips. It took about 15 minutes for these to cook. I also twisted the breadsticks; it made them look very pretty! All in all, it was fairly easy, very good tasting and pretty presentation. I will plan on making these next time I want breadsticks.

Chocolate Candy Bar Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
This was very, very good. I did make this in two 9" cake pans and it took much longer to cook. I also used skim milk. I followed the recipe for the frosting and used all of it to frost the cake. I did use Kit Kat bars as my candy. I mixed them in with the frosting and used that for my filling between the layers and then I just used the plain frosting (without the candy) to frost the sides and top of the cake. I sprinkled pieces of Kit Kat bars on top of the cake. Everyone thought it was good. The frosting was pretty easy to spread and I didn't have any problems with it.

Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
These turned out really well. I did double the recipe and put it in a 9 x 13 pan and increased the cooking time by about 5-10 minutes. I also added some extra chocolate chips and mixed them all into the batter. Pretty easy and will definitely make again. I've also made these with white chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet chocolate and they're great too!

Winter Fruit Salad with Lemon Poppyseed Dressing

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
We really liked this. Not my favorite, but I'll probably make it again. I pretty much followed the recipe, but I left out the minced onion (preference) and didn't use the whole dressing amount.

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
I made this last night and it was great! I did use only 6 chicken thighs (it was one package at the store) and used 8 petite red potatoes. Next time I might choose slightly larger small red potatoes. I used about 1/3 cup olive oil and could have probably been fine with a little less than that. I cooked it together for 1 hour and it was fantastic! I will definitely be making this again- and probably sometime soon. It was a really simple dinner to put together and tasted great!

Fruit Salad in Seconds

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2009
I pretty much followed the recipe. I liked having the yogurt in there... it added some flavor and was good... much better than just adding in sugar (which is what my mom always did growing up).

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2009
These are AWESOME!! I did add 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp cinnamon and a sprinkle of nutmeg to the batter. I also increased the cinnamon in the crumb topping as well. (We really like cinnamon!) They came out perfect- moist, but not too moist and with a great flavor!
