About this Cook
I've only been trying to really learn how to cook for a little over a year. Sandwiches, hamburgers, and sweets are my favorite types of food.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy baking the most. I like making pies and cakes and I also love working with chocolate.
My favorite family cooking traditions
There are no traditions!
My cooking triumphs
Holiday Dinner 2008! Omurice, Cappaccino brownies w/ special gnache, chocolate cake.
My cooking tragedies
I discovered the mere smell of fresh cilantro makes me physically ill. 2:7 attempts to make fudge.

Heavenly Chipped Chocolate and Hazelnut Cheesecake
This cheesecake is average. First, the chocolate topping completely overwhelms the cheesecake itself. Second, the cheesecake part is really kind of meh, it's on the softer side and I don't really feel that putting in "chipped chocolate" really adds to it. In the end it just feels like a big chocolate, sugary mess in your mouth w/ a bit of cheesecake flavor towards the end. The hazelnut flavor gets lost in the chocolate as well. I won't make it again.

Fudge Pie
Totally disappointing. If you're looking for a dense fudgey pie this is Absolutely Not it. The chocolate flavor isn't very strong, the butter flavor is extreme. It comes out with a light fluffy texture that isn't unpleasant, but it's not what I'm looking for in a fudge pie.

Moka Fudge Pie
This was really easy and the chocolate was tasty. It was also very smooth. I will say, however, it's extremely rich. It was like eating a pie crust full of chocolate ganache. Next time I plan on filling bite size phyllo cups with the chocolate and serving it that way.
