Butter Chickpea Curry

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2011
This is a nice, mild curry, which was perfect for the kiddies. I prefer a bolder, spicier curry, but this recipes can be easily modified to ones own tastes. Next time, I will use diced tomatoes, tomato paste instead of the soup (I think the soup made it a bit sweeter than I prefer). I also used coconut milk, which added to the yummy-ness! One question though...if it's called "Butter Chickepea Curry"...where is the BUTTER?? Thanks for sharing.

Melt - In - Your - Mouth Shortbread

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
Oh my, are these good. And really easy to make. I didn't change a thing and these cookies turned out JUST the way I wanted. If using a convection oven, cut the time down to about 7-8 minutes SO good. Thanks for sharing

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
YUM! And super addictive. I used the recipe as a guideline but took the advice of others to cut the sugar down. I used 1/4 cup of sugar TOTAL as the preserve has plenty of it. A tip for the chips: Be sure to coat the tortillas entirely with the cinnamon sugar for an even yummier chip. I found it time consuming to bake the tortillas (laying the triangles in a single layer to bake) but worth the wait in the end.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
This is a big hit in my household! It's very saucy and packed with flavour. I use breadcrumbs instead of crackers and often omit the ginger (if I forget to add it ;) ) and it still turns out perfect. In addition to packing the brown sugar and ketchup in the bottom of the pan, I mix about a cup's worth in a bowl and drizzle/baste the top of the loaf to give it a little MORE flavour. YUMMMMMY! Thanks for sharing!

Newfoundland Jigg's Dinner

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
My parents always made this dinner every holiday and I just started making it for my own family. I can't get enough of the pease pudding and salt beef...always my favourite. NOTES: Salt beef = aka: cured naval beef, you can sometimes buy it in bulk where you can pick and choose your beef rather than buying a bucket that is often very fatty. If you come across a Newfoundland store, just ask the owners (they usually have the bulk beef in the "back"..they're not really supposed to advertise/sell it in bulk due to new regulations). Other than that....eat it up, it's some good 'by!
