My Mom got me my 1st children's cookbook when I was 6 and helped me with little recipes. I have been cooking simple meals since I was about 8 or 9 and experimenting with more challenging recipes in my teens. I love cooking with the crock pot and trying new recipes especially in fall/winter.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking Italian foods-lasanga, alfredo, spaghetti-definatly my favorite things. I want to learn to cook other types of ethnic foods. I also love making soups, and chili. I alos love making desserts, whether I'm baking or making a pudding dessert I like all of that! I have a killer sweet tooth!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I think our family traditions are the pinch of this and a dash of that, we don't really measure especially with recipes we make a lot like soups, meatloafs, lasanga, ect.
My cooking triumphs
My most triumphant moment of coarse was when I was 16 and I made a 10 course meal for 15 people! It was Thanksgiving, and I told my Mom I wanted to cook, so I did the whole meal. My Mom was greatful and I was so proud!! It was a lot of work, but I loved it. Everything turned out great!
My cooking tragedies
I have A LOT of those!! Way too much garlic salt in spaghetti sauce, I didn't realize when I was simmering chili, that the burner was on med/high and totally burnt the whole batch!! The list goes on and on and on. But that is exactly how you learn, all trial and error. My tragedies made me a better cook!
