Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2011
I just noticed this recipe here, but I've been making these for years. I make them as written, but I am planning on making some with nutter butters (with half cream cheese/half peanut butter) and milk chocolate coating. My BEST suggestion, because believe me, I dip a TON of my desserts in chocolate (cuz I'd rather "prepare" than actually bake), USE THE CHOCOLATE MELTING WAFERS! You can find them right in your grocery store or craft stores. I learned not to melt in the microwave, so I make my own version of a double boiler at home and use that...it works PERFECTLY! The chocolate wafers even come in different colors, so you can be even more creative.

Easy Grape Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
This recipe is a tough one for me to rate. I made it for Easter. I tried it and loved it as I was making it, so I thought everyone would just love it. Although I brought it to my parents house where there were plenty of other desserts, nobody even touched it!!! I gave some of the salad to my mom, and she told me it was good but too sweet for her liking. So, I gave it 4 stars due to the fact that I still think it's delicious. Oh, and I substitued the almonds for walnuts.

Liquid Valium

If your looking to catch a quick buzz, this is your drink. I like fruity, fun drinks that taste good with a kick, and this did not do it for me. I made it for my friends and it wasn't even able to be drank, and they are drinkers (all in our 20s). I thnk it has the potential to be good with some alterations. Thanks for the recipe tho!!!

Thanksgiving Won Tons

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2008
I was expecting these to be outstanding, and they were OK. I made them the Sunday after thanksgiving while the guys were watching football. Don't get me wrong, they got eaten, but I didn't get any rave reviews on them. I used the directed recipe and I made my own with turkey, almonds, salt n pepper, and a little bit of sour cream. I also put them all out with cranberry sauce and gravy. I definately do love the idea behind it all tho. I think I'm gonna take the ideas of it and just replace it with different fillings (like a walnut/brownsugar filling). THanks for the idea tho!!!!

Garlic Parmesan Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2008
I made this the other night with spaghetti dinner and it was a total hit!!! The guys in my house LOVED it!!! I added some shredded cheddar cheese to the egg/butter micture and that gave it some yummy cheese in the middle of the pieces. I also added just 1 egg, for fear that 2 would be too much and it turned out perfectly (I actually added more butter to compensate for the amount). I also did not follow directions in regards to amounts of seasonings. I added my own to taste (we all love garlic in my house) and they turned out perfect!!! Thank you for the great idea!!!!!

The Best Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2012
I made these last year for a party and they were a huge hit! Everybody loved them! So I took the leftovers home to my husband (cuz he was not at the party with me) and he absolutely loved them! In the last year, I've made them so many times I cant count! I make them ihn my crockpot for about 4 hours or so, but other than that, DO NOT MAKE ANY CHNGES! Make them absolutely as written, and they are phenominal! They are now a normal staple on our grocery list and they get made almost weekly! Love them!

I brought it to a CHristmas party and it was the #1 thing that everyone ate! It got rave reviews, and even I couldn't stop eating it,a nd I don't usually eat much of the stuff I bring places! Thanks for a superb recipe!!!! It will be a keeper for life with me!!!!

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
I've already made this for 2 different Christmas parties this year and everyone loves it!!!! No, it is NOT a healthy snack, but it is sooooo good!!!!!! I rolled mine in toffee pieces and it makes the flavors all perfect. The first time I made it I used peanut butter chips and chocolate chips. The second time, just chocolate. I gotta say, I like the peanut butter taste in it, but then again, I like peanut butter taste in anything!!!! Thanks for the recipe!!! My friends and I LOVE it!!!!!!!

Frosted Cranberries

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2009
I must start off saying that I love cranberry anything. So I knew I would love these. So I went out n bought my bag of cranberries and tried one (knowing that they were bitter, but figuring I wouldn't hate them plain). I was wrong! I tried one andwas petrified to take the time to make these!!! But I did anyways and am I glad I did!!! What a difference it makes! They are absolutely delicious!!! The ONLY reason why I did not give them 5 stars is only because of the amount of time they took to make just a small amount. I took the advice of others and dipped them in corn syrup first then the sugar. They are beautiful in a small glass bowl, but they took me about an hour to make a half of a bag! They are so yummy tho and I can't wait to take them to my parents house tomorrow for Thanksgiving!!!!

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
I loved these!!! I made 2 batches. One with vanilla cake mix mixed with only diet orange pop, so that the cake tastes like a healthier creamsicle. I dipped these into milk chocolate. I then made a batch of brownies, scooped around the edges to the soft brownie, and mixed it with cream cheese frosting and dipped into white chocolate. I couldn't keep my family from eating these!!!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
I gave this recipe 4 stars based on the fact that it was a TON of work for me that produced very little results, but it did taste amazing!!! I used a 5lb shoulder butt and most of it was so fatty that I had to dig around for the good pieces of actual meat. I know that this is not the recipes fault, as it called for tenderloin. I also used diet dr. pepper for the liquid and Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce. Like I said, the meal was delicious. Out of the 5lb piece of meat, tho, it made about 7 sandwiches. I guess its a good amount, but I always look for things that are easy to make and taste great due to having to cook for myself with 3 grown men. Overall, very yummy recipe! ***I made this again a few days ago. This time I made it with actual root beer (I filled my big crock pot with the entire 2 liter!)and cooked a 4 lb pork roast for about 6 hours. I got sooo many more sandwiches this time and it tasted even better!!! I changed my rating to 5 stars....and it would be more if I could add!!!

Pumpkin Fudge

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
I followed this recipe to the T and it turned out perfectly!!! I didn't use a candy thermometer and I've never made fudge, so I was worried after reading the reviews. It was very easy to make and it tasted great!!! It was very creamy and just pumpkin-y enough. Thanks for the wonderful recipe that I plan on using for years to come!!!

Kitty Litter Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2008
I give this recipe 10+ stars!!!!I made it last nite for my cousins birthday, and it was a total success!!!! Although it took some time for my friends to actually want to eat it, everyone loved it!!! I used some cookies n cream pudding and a jar a vanilla frosting to mix in with the cake....very tasty!!! Next time I will omit the pudding altogether and just put in more frosting. I plan on making this for my office on halloween day. Thank you for the fantastic idea of a yummy and hysterical cake!!!! I forgot to add that I took an idea of someone and I replaced tootsie rolls with Little Debbie brownies. I wanted more of the cakey taste to go with the cake. Overall, huge success!!!!

Chocolate Pretzels

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2008
These actually deserve 10 stars!!!! Sooo good and easy to make. My suggestion is to leave the cookie sheet in the oven and just pull the rack out so that the kisses dont harden (but I had a LOT on my cookie sheet - the whole thing was completely filled). I can't wait to try them all the different ways that were suggested on here!!! Definately going to try the melting chocolate disks (every time I unwrapped a bunch of them, someone would grab some of the unwrapped kisses right out of the bowl!). Thanks for a great recipe!!! **2/17/09** I'VE MADE THESE AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND EVERYONE JUST LOVES THESE!!! I JUST SPENT THE LAST WEEKEND MAKING THEM MULTIPLE TIMES, ALL FOR DIFFERENT PEOPLE!!!! MY FAVORITE TA MAKE AND EAT SO FAR HAVE BEEN WITH ROLOS. I LOVE HAVING TO PUT THE GUYS TO WORK TO UNWRAP THEM STILL. FOR EASTER I'M PLANNING ON MAKING THEM WITH NON-PERILS (THE MINT FLAVORED, PASTEL COLORED ONES)AND THE EASTER M&M'S. KEEP THE SUGGESTIONS ON THEM ROLLING THO!!!
