Sausage Stuffing

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2011
Greta recipe! I didn't stuff the bird with it. Instead I baked it in a pan so had to add chicken broth for the moisture and it turned out great! I also didn't toast my bread, but that is a personal preference. Why toast bread you're going to put moisture in? Thanks for sharing!

Banana Nut Brownies

I was excited to try this recipe but when I tasted them I was let down. Not sure why. Others who had them liked them and my dish was empty and saw none in the trash can so they couldn't have been that bad. I might try them again.

Grandma's Applesauce Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2011
Great flavor but it wasn't cake like as I thought it would be. It could be because I didn't add the raisins (not a fan) but I will make this again with the raisns to see if it makes a difference. Thanks for sharing!

Armadillo Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
Thanks for sharing a great recipe! It is time consuming but oh so worth it! First time we made this we cut the peppers in half, cleaned them, put the cheese in the center of on, topped with the other half then put the sausage mixture around it. Second time we left the peppers whole, cut off the end, and used a older metal potato peeler to clean out the membrane and seeds, stuffed it with cheese, then put sausage mixture around it. Didn't get all the seeds and membranes out so some were hot and some weren't. Both times, however, they quickly vanished off the serving plate! We bought a block of Monterey Cheese and cut pieces to fit inside the peppers. We used shredded for the sausage mixture and it worked great. We did have to play with the baking mix/sausage mixture to get to where we could handle it without it being all sticky but we will definitely be making this again!

Mom's Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
Made this for a crowd and served on top of Southwestern Rice by Michell D. from this site. Rave reviews it was such a hit! I forgot the dry onion soup mixed and was afraid it wouldn't turn out. I added garlic salt & pepper to the sauce and, after pouring it over the chicken, I sprinkled finely diced onions over it so I could get the onion flavor. Despite the rave reviews I will use the dry onion soup mix next time! Thanks for sharing a great recipe! I will be making this again and i may do as other reviewers suggested and try Raspberry instead of Plum, though the Plum was great!

Southwestern Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
Made this for a crowd and it was a hit! I also fixed Mom's Chicken by Liza from this website and served the chicken on top of the rice. Rave reviews! I did have to omit the green pepper as I didn't have one but I will make sure I have one for the next time I make this! I also didn't have Turmeric so I substituted Ground Mustard instead. Like other reviewers I used can corn, drained instead of frozen. I think cooking it all in Chicken Broth makes all the difference in flavor. I actually made too much and had plenty left over so I fixed it the next day with cut up smoked sausage in it. A few days later I was at a friends house and she had made Mexi-Can Soup (everything was from a can) and it was very similar to this rice recipe only souper because she used Chicken & Rice Soup. I will definitely be making this again! Thanks for sharing a great easy recipe!

Ruby Drive Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
Made this for a crowd and everyone loved it! I'll never buy the can stuff or the season package again! I didn't add the hot sauce and it still had a tang to it, probably from the hot salsa I used. Thanks for sharing a great recipe!!! I did use half ketchup and half BBQ sauce like other reviewers suggested as well as adding garlic!

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2011
I made this for a crowd. Everyone said it was awesome. I actually made one batch of sauce and then divided it between Chicken with Fettuccine and Shrimp with Angel Hair Pasta. I was also running short on time so I made it in a hurry. I don't think I made it right. The Shrimp sauced up good but the Chicken dried out. It did taste better than a jar sauce but presentation was another story. I will make this again but only on a smaller scale so I can make it right. I did add garlic and cream cheese as other reviewers suggested.

Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
I intended to make this for a Mexican Bar at a small club for the Friday night dinner. In trying to get everything done by multi tasking, I missed a few of the ingredients, like the beans and mexi corn. I realized it AFTER I had it together and ready to go into the oven! Atleast I remembered the meat! Anyways I called it a Taco Bake instead and it was still gobbled up! Thanks for a great recipe and I promise next time to add the beans and corn!

Creamed Tuna On Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2011
Thanks for sharing. Like the other reviewer I made my own cream sauce with milk, flour, & butter. Besides the salt & pepper I added garlic powder and onion powder (1/4 tsp each). Hubby said it hit the spot!

Mom's Best Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
Great recipe! Thanks for sharing! I made it for a crowd and it was way too moist and fell apart but after the leftovers got cold it held together great. I used part of the leftovers in chili and part of them I simmered in a little water, added BBQ sauce, & mustard and had Sloppy Joes! Everyone in the crowd said the meatloaf had a great flavor and one person asked for the recipe. I will make it again and try to figure out why it was so moist. Could have been the hamburger.

Berdean's Cube Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
Thanks for sharing a great recipe. I did follow some of the other reviewers by adding garlic, onions, mushrooms, and then baking. I didn't have any beef bouillon or beef broth but I did have a packet of gravy mix so I added that and it worked! Served with mash poatotes and green beans! Delicious! Husband asked for a knife but he found out he didn't need it! The meat was fork tender!

Doubled this recipe and used half cream of mushroom & half cream of chicken soup (celery soup would also work great) because my nieces hate mushrooms. They never knew they ate some!

Heavenly Chocolate Mousse

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
My niece requested I make chocolate mousse for Christmas dessert and said she would be happy with the cool whip powder pudding mix recipe. I wasn't. I tried this one and was not disappointed. I did follower some advice from other viewers by chilling my metal mixing bowl & beaters and adding 1/2 of small pkg unflavored gelatin for the whipping cream. I also added vanilla to the chocolate mixture then cooled it in the freezer for 5 minutes, stirred it, freezer for 5 minutes, then stirred in whipped whipping cream. My niece said it was heavenly!!!! Thanks for sharing!
