When I went to Peru I had this and was never able to find anything in the states that lived up to it.. till now! This was EXCELLENT! I also used 1 cu. whole milk and 1 cu. heavy cream, I added 1/4 teaspoon baking soda for the cake to rise better, I separated my eggs and beat well the whites before adding, I skipped making the whip cream and used cool whip. I topped with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Be sure right when it comes out of the oven to poke holes ALL over the cake and to cut around the edges up the cake. Cake must cool, then slowly pour milk mixture on surface and around the edges. This recipe called for a perfect amount of milk it was GREAT!
