Banana Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
I used this recipe as a cake filling and it came out great! I added butterscotch to give it even more flavor! I mixed together 1/2 of a 3.4 oz banana cream pudding mix package, 1 whole banana, 1/4 cup whole milk, 1 tsp vanilla extract, and about 15 butterscotch morsels (melted), and 4oz cool whip. I whipped everything together, and used it to fill a 9 inch square yellow cake with plain butter cream frosting. DELISH!

Vegan Black Bean Quesadillas

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2013
Oh. My. God. Yep, that's what people say when they put these quesadillas in their mouths. My only addition was agave nectar to sweeten the mixture up a bit! We grilled them and everyone absolutely LOVED them. I will make these many, many times again. Woohoo!

Dog Treats I

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2011
My dogs loved these! I unfortunately didn't have oatmeal so I crushed up some Total cereal and used that - it made the treats smell a lot like Total, but the dogs still loved them! As other suggested, I substituted the cheddar cheese and bouillon, but I used 3/4 cup of peanut butter and 1/2 cup of apple sauce., which also allowed me to omit the white sugar. The dough is sticky but the more you knead it and roll it out with whole wheat flour, the better it is to work with!

Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2011
This recipe is great. The only thing I did was I added an equal part of brown sugar as white sugar. For example, the original recipe calls for 1 tbsp of white sugar, so I added to that 1 tbsp of brown sugar. It was perfect! I also added some pumpkin pie spice and that was delicious too!

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2011
Great and simple recipe. I didn't change anything, but I did double up the recipe to make both the shell and the covering for the pie. You really only need to roll out the dough nicely for the top - if you're only doing a shell, nobody is going to see it and you can just press the dough into the pie dish. I baked the shell about 15 minutes at 350 before filling it, so it would harden up a bit and I could put my filling in. I did dab some milk on the covering also. It took quite a while to brown at 350, but it was absolutely delicious anyway. I did use half butter and half shortening and I may have gone with all butter next time, as I imagine it would taste even better. I didn't chill the dough, either. I used it to make a thanksgiving-leftovers pie, and it was amazing!

Smashed Cauliflower

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2012
What a delicious side dish, especially for low carb-ers! I used one 16oz bag of frozen cauliflower, and only 3tbsp of butter, and it was perfect. I also used the regular orange cheddar cheese, and omitted the Parmesan because my picky hubby doesn't like it. When he tried them, he said they're better than mashed potatoes! And he is the stereotypical meat and potatoes kind of guy! WOW!

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2013
These were SO delicious and SO easy to make. I didn't use as much cream cheese in order to cut back on some calories. Instead, for the cheese, I used 1/4 cup cream cheese, 1/8 cup Parmesan, 1/8 cup mozzarella, and 2 Laughing Cow garlic and herb wedges. I also mixed 1/4 cup of spinach in. YUM!!!
