Mmm-Mmm Better Brownies

I've made homemade brownies with butter many times, but I prefer this recipe made with oil better. These were great, made no changes.

Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread

I haven't tasted it baked yet, but the batter tastes great. I doubled the spices and added 1/2 cup veg oil. Also ran out of molasses so used about 1/2 of maple syrup.

Premium Pizza Crust

Pizza crust was great. I Used the sponge method, but agree with others that it needs more than the 3 cups of flour - probably closer to 4 cups.

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

I just found another version of this recipe that uses buttermilk instead of milk and hot brewed coffee in place of the boiling water. It's baking now.

Blonde Brownies I

Really good recipe. Mixed the walnuts and chocolate chips into the batter - probably used more of both than called for, but very good. Used a 8x8 greased pan and baked for 30 minutes and they came out perfect.

Golden Potato Soup

Good base recipe. I used 2 cups of water and then about 3/4 of sour cream to my milk flour mixture. I also used some minced garlic and nacho cheese mix instead of american cheese.

Lentil Soup

Great soup. I didn't add the spinach and used chicken broth in place of the water and sprinkled a little parmesan cheese on top when serving. Very hearty soup.

Butterscotch Gingerbread Cookies

Wow - love these cookies. Only change I made was cutting the butterscotch chips in half and using regular molasses. They are sweet, but they are very good, definitely a new favorite and a recipe I will pass on to friends and family.

Apple Squares

Yum! I reduced the sugar to 3/4 of a cup but still a bit too sweet, 2/3 cup mixture of the brown and white sugar would probably be perfect. I also only used 2 tablespoons for the sugar/cinnamon topping, made a nice top crust. Used probably more like 1 cup of chopped apples and 1/2 cup of wheat flour in place of some of the white flour since I ran out.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

I decreased both the brown sugar and white sugar to 3/4 cup and instead of 1 cup of butter I used 1/2 cup of butter and 1/2 of shortening. Would have used walnuts if I had them on hand, they add great additional flavor.

Bavarian Strawberry Pie

Great strawberry cream pie. I used a graham cracker crust and increased the whipped cream to 2 cups to cut down on the sweetness (and because my boyfriend came home with a pint of cream because it was a better deal than half a pint.)
