The Arnold Palmer

Reviewed: May 25, 2015
My mother used to make this when I was a child. It was how my daddy always drank his tea. Perfect half and half mixture. Made a great addition to our holiday table.

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: May 12, 2015
This is an incredibly easy and quick sauce to make. I added shredded cooked chicken at the end and served it over steamed broccoli. Delicious!

Curry and Cheese Cauliflower

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2015
This is my new favorite way to fix cauliflower. Full of flavor! I did use a combination of cheddar and pepper jack since it's what I had in the frig.

Lemon Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2015
I was cooking this recipe just for myself, so I cooked only 1 chicken breast. When I changed the serving size, I saw that I was supposed to sprinkle 2 tsp garlic powder on my one piece of chicken! I just couldn't do it. I did use a little more than 1 teaspoon, though. This was a very flavorful recipe. I loved the lemon flavor.

Frozen Grape Bites

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2015
I used purple grapes (because I had them) and they were small, so I used a candy mold rather than a muffin tin. I think the shape was prettier than a muffin tin would have been anyway. These are simply whipping cream with a grape inside. Upon eating one, you get a burst of sweetness from the grape. They melt really quickly, so they can only be eaten as a quick snack rather than serving them at a party or for guests.

Favorite Basil-Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2015
This soup was ok for me. It is thicker than I am used to but that can be rectified by adding more chicken broth. I also would like some garlic and onion in it, but that can easily be added as well. So for me, this is a good base recipe that I can change any way I want.

Vegetable Stovetop Frittata

A very good and healthy breakfast! The times and temps the submitter gave in the recipe are spot on too.

Quick and Easy Vegetable Beef Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2015
I followed the recipe exactly except my canned tomatoes had garlic, oregano, and basil in them. I think I'll use this same kind the next time I make this soup. This is not an overly juicy soup; I was afraid I would need to add more water, but I didn't. Very good and very quick to get on the table.

Spinach and Banana Power Smoothie

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2015
Perfect smoothie to get my morning going. I did as the reviewer suggested and subbed almond milk. I always have bananas in my freezer, so I used a frozen one which made the smoothie icy cold. I'm totally off sugar, so the banana made this smoothie plenty sweet for me.

Overnight Sweet Potato Oatmeal for One

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2015
I love overnight oatmeal and make mine using most of the ingredients listed for this one. While I like sweet potatoes, I discovered with this recipe that I don't particularly care for them in my oatmeal. I think this is a personal preference type thing on my part. Others might really like this savory oatmeal, but I'll probably stick with fruit in mine.

Easy Flank Steak Fajitas

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2014
Easy to prepare and easy to clean up! What I love about this recipe is the marinade. I marinated the flank steak for 45 minutes, and the meat was so flavorful! A great choice for Mexican night!

Homemade Spinach Pizza Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2014
Making foods that roll up always intimidates me. This one was surprisingly easy to do, although I would like to improve my technique so that I have a round pizza roll instead of oval. I used Johnsonville Hot Italian Sausage and a Pillsbury refrigerated pizza crust. Both were perfect for this dish. When I cut the roll, it appeared to be too bready, but when I tasted it, there was plenty of meat flavor that came through. While I am a die-hard Reynold's Wrap user, this was my first time to use the no-stick wrap. It held true to its name with nothing sticking and made clean up quite easy.

Low-Carb Beef Cabbage Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2014
This was wonderful! I changed a few things only because I wanted to use what I had in my pantry and frig: My package of stew meat was a little larger than 2 lbs, so I used it all; I used an entire can of chicken broth to avoid waste; my cabbage came in a 16 oz pkg and I used most of it (next time I will use all of it); I used a 16 oz can of diced tomatoes since 8 oz cans are hard to find; my tomato sauce had garlic, basil, and oregano in it. This is definitely a keeper and a stew I will make again!

Low-Carb Slow Cooker Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2014
I'm so sorry, but this recipe just wasn't for us. It was too heavy on the tomato paste taste. And with only 1/2 tsp. chili powder, it just didn't have enough chili flavor. I added more seasonings but couldn't salvage it.

Apple Pie Spice Mix

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2014
I love allrecipes because I know I can trust homecooks to help me prepare great meals. But I also love it because I know I can always find a substitute for when I'm out of certain ingredients. This apple pie spice is an example. I needed a teaspoon for some overnight apple pie oats but didn't have the spice can in my rack. So, allrecipes to the rescue. Turned out perfectly!

Low-Carb Fauxtato Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2014
This is a delicious recipe to add to your menu even if you're not on a low-carb diet! I will admit, I was serving only 2 people, so I made only half the "sauce" and used only 2 eggs, but I did use more than half my cauliflower. (What's the standard size of a cauliflower anyway?) I used the "taste as you go" policy. Definitely a keeper and a recipe I will make again and again.

Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2014
From the beginning I knew I was going to add hot sausage to this soup. I had never had pumpkin soup, so I tasted it before adding the sausage. Then I tasted it after adding the sausage and liked it so much better! This will be a great fall and winter soup for my husband and me. (I did use dried thyme.)
