Creamy Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
I cut this recipe in half. Added half a bag of corn. I didn't have sour cream on hand so had to substitute (almost 1 cup milk plus 1 tbls lemon juice sitting out to sour and an extra 3 tbls melted butter). I also didn't have cheese so I omitted it and I used canned chicken. It was delicious for something so quick and easy! It will definitely be a staple meal in our house. Good comfort food!

Southwestern-Flavored Ground Beef or Turkey for Tacos & Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
Yummy! I used ground turkey and cut the recipe in 3rds - so a little estimating there. Exactly what I was craving. THANK YOU!

Candy Bar Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2009
I thought this was a great recipe - pretty much what I expected it to be. I had NO problems with crumbling or dryness. I DID pat it down really well into the pan. It was very moist. If you are looking for a sweet, chocolately, peanut buttery treat - this is it! Very much like a commercial chewy granola bar.

Chicken Rice Hot Dish

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
This recipe is so delicious, especially considering how easy it is. I did not add salt as my chicken bouillon cubes have more than enough and I topped with a little cheese and thought it was great! I used canned chicken, which made it even easier.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2009
I love this frosting! I have a hard time getting the lumps out, but I don't have much patience for that. It was delicious on my pumpkin bars. Very versatile recipe!

Mall Pretzels

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2009
First time I did all by hand. Second time I did in bread machine and just made pretzel sticks. Both times were equally good. These are just awesome fresh out of the oven with butter and salt. My only attempt at reheating them was disastrous - they were barely edible. But I will try that again - maybe a fluke? I found that my wax paper smoked at that high oven temp, so I just used a baking dish sprayed with nonstick cooking spray and it worked fine. A little crisp on the bottom of the pretzel, but I didn't mind that. I look forward to making these for snacks for others.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2009
Very good basic recipe! I made some changes. No green peppers and cayenne pepper. No tomato juice. I used a can of diced tomatoes and a bit more tomato sauce. I also used 3 tablespoons brown sugar in place of the white sugar, per another reviewer. And I only used about 3/4 tablespoon chili powder, and will only use 1/2 tablespoon next time - but I have no tolerance for spicy foods. My husband really liked this chili. It will definitely be on our menu several times a month.

Guacamole

Fresh! I didn't use onions because I didn't have and it still tasted great.

Whole Wheat Oatmeal Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
This is my family's favorite "staple" bread. Moist and great texture. Great with butter, toasted, as part of a sandwich, and with grilled cheese.
