Orange Bow Knots

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2012
I made these in the bread machine, so they were super easy to make. Very tasty, fluffy and light! I used butter for the shortening as well. Next time I will make more icing.

Homemade Bagels

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2012
Pretty good recipe and very easy! My first time making bagels! I used the bread machine and just dumped everything in there. Came out nice and fluffy! Dusted half of them with salt and half with garlic powder before baking. Will make again.

Orange Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2012
Really enjoyed this cake. Quick and easy! The frosting needed a little more orange to it (in my opinion) so maybe some orange rind might make it taste better.

Sausage Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
Seems a little dry for my taste. I added some milk and had my hands moist while rolling them up. Maybe I used too much baking mix? Might try again with less. Added note: So the next day I decided to make a country gravy, heated up the sausage balls in the micro and poured the gravy over the balls. Much better!!

Very good recipe! I added twice as much butter and poured the whole thing over linguini noodles. Can't wait to make it again!

Plum Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
Very good cake! Reminds me a lot of my Mom's Pflaumenkuchen. I made it in a springform pan and sprinkled some cinnamon on the batter before laying the plums on their sides. Right before I put it in the oven I sprinkled with some sugar and then 5 minutes before it was done I sprinkled a little more sugar over to form a little crust over the cake. I did not separate the eggs, I just added them whole to the butter and sugar and mix them in well. =) ****** Update: I made it again and used only 2 eggs which made the dough less rubbery and also added in about 1/4 tsp. of salt. Put fresh peach slices on top this time. Really good!

St. Louis Toasted Ravioli

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2011
These are pretty good. I think I prefer them baked then fried. I took the suggestions from a few other reviews and baked them in the oven at 375 for 30 minutes. Also sprayed some grease on the pan before placing the coated ravioli on there.

Best Lemonade Ever

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2011
Very good recipe! I didn't add in all of the simple syrup and I added the rind from 1 lemon. Gives it a more refreshing taste. Tastes great when you stick some in a bowl, put it in the freezer and make it a little slushy like.

Zucchini Bread IV

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2011
Really good recipe! Very close to my Mom's recipe. I used 1 cup white sugar and 1 cup loose packed brown sugar instead of the 2 cups white sugar. It made 1 loaf and 7 muffins. Definitely a keeper!

Chocolate Crinkles II

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2011
These were pretty good! My son requested I add chocolate chips. I preferred them without the chocolate chips, but he ate several of them after telling me he didn't want any of the cookies. Ahuh.

Lemon Sugar Tea Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
Very good recipe! I omitted the lemon extract and used the rind from 1 lemon, 2 tsp. lemon juice and 1/8 tsp of salt with the salted butter. After the cookies set for awhile they lose some of the lemony flavor but still a yummy cookie!!

Very tasty waffles! Just made them and enjoyed them very much. I also did as other had suggested with whipping up the egg whites and then folding them in at the end. I got 6 waffles out of this.
