About this Cook
I am a classicly trained chef/baker/cake decorator, and truly enjoy being in the kitchen. I am a personal chef in the Metro Boston area and make housecalls on a weekly basis.
My favorite things to cook
I love to try new things. I enjoy cooking anything flavorful and healthy, good and good for you. I'm not a fan of salty foods, bland foods, or boring dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandma used to prepare her potato chocolate cake (a secret family recipe) in a particular bowl, a nice old fashioned wooden bowl. I have since inherited the bowl, and I prepare all my cakes in this wonderful, unique family heirloom.
My cooking triumphs
I make wedding cakes for brides on a budget, and have made it my job to cut costs without cutting quality for brides in need. I have managed to make cakes for as little as $85, a huge steal in bridal confections!
My cooking tragedies
I had a bride who was very particular with her desires for her cake. She chose an icing that was heavy and very sticky, that I was fearful would cause the cake to tear and collapse. She demanded this icing, so I warned her of the likelihood of the cake collapsing, but she insisted on the icing, so I prepared her cake as she wished, and it collapsed in the corner of the reception hall in front of all her guests.

Applesauce Pork Chops
Just made these, and they are soooo good! Instead of cooking in the oven, I added a cup of apple juice and simmered covered on the stove, and they came out so juicy, flavorful, and tasty!!! I would recommend this to anyone who is tired of the same old same old pork chops!!!

Simple Turkey Chili
This was a pretty ok recipe, but I've made much better on my own. I didn't mash the beans, added a can of pintos, and omitted the cayenne (we have a family of weenies who don't love the heat, lol). Good standby recipe. :)
