Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2008
My boss is famous for her cookies, selling 10-12 dozen a day, in our small town deli (village pop. 402). I brought some of these cookies in for her to try, and she said they were worthy of putting in her cookie case at the store! I've made these dozens of times now, and I've always loved them!! I did however cut the vanilla down to 1 tsp, and only use 1 to 1 and 1/2 cups of chips, (sometimes I even leave the chips out completely, the plain cookie is great on its own!) but overall great cookie, and one I'll use for many years to come!!

Cordon Bleu Chicken Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
The sauce puts this over the top. I also mixed some parm cheese in with the bread crumbs, since there is no such thing as too much cheese in my house!! Tossed about a Tablespoon of butter in the bottom of the pan, to keep things from burning.

I Love My Pear Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
My family has also been making this for years, although without the nuts, and we've always called it "Green Monster", making it with the lime jello, of course. Our biggest trick, is to put the cream cheese and pears in the blender, and mix them there, then add the jello, blend again, and finally fold in the cool whip. That way you get a really nice smooth texture.

Chocolate Crinkles II

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
A regular both at the deli/bakery I work at, and at home for many years. Always so pretty to display, even if they are messy to eat! Using the pre-melted packets of chocolate, seems to keep the cookies softer.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2008
This has become a near weekly dish my house, espically during the winter months. One quick money-saving thought I had the other day in the store... instead of 2 cans of soup... just get one of the big ones! Saves me a buck or more each time!

Raw Veggie Picnic Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2008
I made this using the 48 servings scale, and it worked great. I cut up everything at home the night before, and tossed into green bags, and tupperware, and it was easy to throw into the cooler. The day of the tailgate, I mixed it all together, using a plastic glove to stir, and it was a huge hit! Although, I didn't end up using all the dressing. I had many people ask for the recipe, and have been asked to make it for the next tailgate.

Easy Cola Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
This was one of my favorite dishes as a kid. My family has made a few adjutments to the recipe over the years... 1/4 C. worc. 3/4 C. ketchup 10 oz. Cola (regular - we never had good luck with the diet or flavored kinds) I often double or even triple the sauce and then serve over mashed potatoes. Cooking covered with foil for the first hour will help keep your chicken from drying out.

Peach Cobbler VI

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
Flavor is pretty good, but didn't cook very evenly. The edges were pretty well done, and the middle was still doughy. Worked out for us, as I like doughy, and my husband likes crispy.

Really liked this for something different. Will def. add to the dinner rotation. Only change might be more chili powder/taco seasonings. Forgot to add the chips, but didn't really miss them.

Best Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
I thought this was a pretty good recipe, and its the best luck I've ever had with breading meat. I thought the chicken cooked up very tender and juicy. However, my finacee said he prefered shake and bake, and since that requires less ingredients, I'll prob. stick with that in the future. But then again, he's not doing the cooking, I am! Might be something I would make for company, as it's a bit fancier than his shake and bake.
