Easy Cola Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
This was one of my favorite dishes as a kid. My family has made a few adjutments to the recipe over the years... 1/4 C. worc. 3/4 C. ketchup 10 oz. Cola (regular - we never had good luck with the diet or flavored kinds) I often double or even triple the sauce and then serve over mashed potatoes. Cooking covered with foil for the first hour will help keep your chicken from drying out.

Aloha Chicken

Reviewed: May 30, 2010
This was ok, but since I'm not dying to make it again, I don't think this will be joining our normal dinners. Nothing mind blowing about it, but still okay as a try for tonight.

I Love My Pear Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
My family has also been making this for years, although without the nuts, and we've always called it "Green Monster", making it with the lime jello, of course. Our biggest trick, is to put the cream cheese and pears in the blender, and mix them there, then add the jello, blend again, and finally fold in the cool whip. That way you get a really nice smooth texture.

Zucchini for Lunch

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2010
I didnt find this to be ugly looking at all, in fact I thought it was very pretty looking. I didn't however care for the taste. The favors didn't really blend or go together much, and I found it to be a bit bland, even with the addition of some garlic & black pepper. Not a waste of my ingredients or time, but nothing some craving to have again either.

Slow Cooker Cranberry Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
I really didn't care for this, and neither did the hubby. We're both fans of cranberry sauce, but this was too much! All I could taste was the cranberry. In the words of my hubby "This would be great if you don't want to taste the meat!" I will say that it looked beautiful and the gravy had a loverly texture... too bad we didn't care for the flavor.

Cheddar Pull-Apart Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
I was sadly disappointed by this recipe... it wasn't terrible, but its not something I'm going to make again. We found it to be rather bland, even with adding extra cheese. It was a very heavy and dense bread, which wasn't what I was looking for. Not worth all the effort in my book.

Cordon Bleu Chicken Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
The sauce puts this over the top. I also mixed some parm cheese in with the bread crumbs, since there is no such thing as too much cheese in my house!! Tossed about a Tablespoon of butter in the bottom of the pan, to keep things from burning.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2008
This has become a near weekly dish my house, espically during the winter months. One quick money-saving thought I had the other day in the store... instead of 2 cans of soup... just get one of the big ones! Saves me a buck or more each time!

Raw Veggie Picnic Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2008
I made this using the 48 servings scale, and it worked great. I cut up everything at home the night before, and tossed into green bags, and tupperware, and it was easy to throw into the cooler. The day of the tailgate, I mixed it all together, using a plastic glove to stir, and it was a huge hit! Although, I didn't end up using all the dressing. I had many people ask for the recipe, and have been asked to make it for the next tailgate.

Peanut Butter Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2008
I can't say I was really impressed with this recipe. I first tried making the loaf of bread, (adding more PB, as well as following the advice of others, and adding vanilla and mayo) and the top was so burnt (yes I tried to cover it with foil when I saw it was getting burnt) that I took it out after 45 mins. The top was charred to a chrisp, and the middle was still dough, so I tried again but made muffins instead, and cooked them on the lowest rack in my oven. They came out alright. The favor isn't bad, but it doesn't really move me either, as I found them pretty bland. I'm pretty sure I won't be trying this again anytime soon.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2008
My boss is famous for her cookies, selling 10-12 dozen a day, in our small town deli (village pop. 402). I brought some of these cookies in for her to try, and she said they were worthy of putting in her cookie case at the store! I've made these dozens of times now, and I've always loved them!! I did however cut the vanilla down to 1 tsp, and only use 1 to 1 and 1/2 cups of chips, (sometimes I even leave the chips out completely, the plain cookie is great on its own!) but overall great cookie, and one I'll use for many years to come!!

Stef's Super Cheesy Garlic Bread

We really didn't like the mayo in this.... gave an odd tangy taste to it, and took away from the garlic and cheese. Won't make again.

Hearty Mince

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2009
The only ones in my house that liked this were the dogs. I found it to be very bland, even after adding some garlic to try and kick up some flavor. For all the comments about Hamburger Helper, I would prefer the box stuff to this. I did however find that the noodles came out perfectly cooked, and had wonderful texture to them. Just too bland of a dish for our liking. I won't be making this again.

Whole Wheat and Honey Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2010
I found this dough very dry and hard to work with, even after adding a bit of olive oil to it. When cooked, this reminded me more of bread, than of a pizza dough. Was something different to try, but not something I'll try again.

Creamy PHILADELPHIA® Pasta Primavera

We didn't care for this at all. I found the red pepper to be very overpowering, and the sauce never really thickened. I followed the recipe. Won't be making again.

Winter Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2010
This wasn't at all what I was hoping for. The potatoes got all mushy, and the cranberries dry. The chicken didn't get any flavor from any of the other ingredients. Overall, I wasn't impressed, and the hubby asked for something else for dinner.
