Best Lemonade Ever

This recipe may look like it's too much work just for lemonade, but it really isn't. My syrup boils, cools and is refrigerated for about 2 hours max before I mix it with the juice. I find that it takes about 9 large lemons to get enough lemon juice and now I keep a spare batch of simple syrup in the fridge for when I want to make another pitcher. So very worth it! Just double your simple syrup recipe and put some aside for next time.

Holiday Chicken Salad

I have been preparing this delicious chicken salad for years now and won't even consider another version for my family. Minor alterations usually include the addition of sweet salad cubes, and sweet or yellow onion if I have no green onion on hand. I enjoy this dish by itself, as a sandwich or with Ritz crackers as a snack. One batch lasts us for about a week and it only gets better as the flavors mingle over that time.

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Great cobbler! My first one from scratch! I did the topping one and a half times the recipe and it was perfect. Some suggested peeling the peaches by boiling for 30 seconds and then putting in ice water... the skin came off with so much ease! Wish I'd found this recipe earlier in the peach season, since it's almost over. May try with canned peaches.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

In search or a truly soft and chewy cookie, which would stay that way for a couple f days, I came across this recipe and decided to give it a go. I followed the recipe exactly, up until the addition of the final ingredient of chocolate chips. My chocolate chips were from Trader Joe's and are bigger than normal, so I ended up using about 1 1/2 cups, which was plenty. While preparing the dough, I began to worry that I had mis-measured something, because it was so dry and the chips seemed not to incorporate very well. It actually ended up being just fine, and mixed together well with a bit of muscle. Long story short, my husband has been telling everyone he has spoken to about "the best cookies ever" that I baked for him! We love them and I will be making this recipe again. The initial crunch of the outer edge leads to a soft, chewy middle, just as the title of the recipe describes.

Shepherd's Pie VI

This recipe was my first true attempt at Shepherd's Pie and I was pleased with the dish. It was easy to prepare and I already had most of the ingredients in stock. It's very hearty, comforting and filling. I was concerned that the meat layer would be somewhat bland, so in addition to salt and pepper I added garlic powder, onion powder and seasoned salt. Will be making the recipe again, especially in the winter months.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

This is a moist, flavorful meatloaf like no other I've ever had. I've been making this meatloaf for almost a year now and it was the first one I ever tried to prepare at home. We never get tired of this and it ddoesn't last long between my guy and I alone! PS- I have used Ritz crackers in place of the saltines several times for this recipe since I usually have those instead, and it's still awesome.

Clone of a Cinnabon

If you want "Oohs and Aahs" on a recipe, this is definately the one to prepare. I, unfortunately do not have a breadmaker, but one of the previous reveiwers gave instruction on how to use this recipe without one. It may add more prep time, but is SO worth it. We had a Cinnabon near me here in VA until about 5 years back and I almost needed "Cinnabon Rehab" until I came across this recipe. Pretty much a dead ringer for the real thing. Now, if only I could find a recipe to replicate their Caramel Pecan Roll, I'd be totally over my "loss".

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Since I only prepare this dish during the cooler months, somehow I forget just how delicious it is until we have it again. The only thing I purposely omit is the chile peppers. Besides that, I make adjustments for our personal preferences, such as an additional onion. A bit heavier on the seasonings and sugar, with the addition of garlic powder. I also put some seasoning on the meat as it browns. We pair this with grated cheddar, cornbread, and sour cream. If I were making this for a potluck, I would definitely make a day ahead, as it tastes better the longer it sits in the refrigerator.

Shrimp Lemon Pepper Linguini

This dish was easy to prepare with a tasty result. I like that the sauce is very light and simple yet so flavorful. I doubled the pasta and shrimp, but upped the sauce ingredients by another half per measurement based on others' reviews. If I hadn't done so, the noodles would be way too dry. It seems that this dish would be easy to customize based on your liking, which is always a plus.
