Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2009
This is ono (delicious) the best way to cooking our Hawaiian pork. All of my State side friends here on our Japan base begs me to cooking Kalua pig in the slow cooker. Everytime I cook mines I tend to add more liquid smoke, a pinch of black pepper and Hawaii soy sauce called Aloha Shoyu. Not too much. After my pork is cooked about 10 hours. I toss in chopped cabbage and diced up onions. Adding in a little more liquid smoke, Aloha soy sauce and black pepper. The aroma is the best! Aloha!

Baked Apricot Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2008
Oh my goodness this is soo good! Thank you for sharing this recipe. My kids and husband loved it but I did a few changes. I went ahead and cut off the skin as the reviews had said. Then I seasoned it with season salt and pepper on both sides. Then I seared both sides of the chicken on a pan in olive oil. After I placed them in a pan and covered it in the apricot sauce. Using apricot jelly, onion soup mix, Italian dressing and a TBS of sugar. Yummy! Would make this again and share this. aloha!

Skillet Beef and Celery

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2008
I loved this meal but I added a couple new items. One was garlic powder and the other for the soy sauce I used the best soy sauce known to Hawaii its made in Hawaii. Its called Aloha Shoyu. Shoyu in Japanese means soysauce. This soy sauce brings out the best flavors for cooking. I can never use any other soysauce for my cookings but Hawaiis own. The other soysauce to me is meant for sushi and certain asian cooking. So this meal was loved from my husband, my 2 yr old and my 7 yr old. We also ate this over white steamed Japanese rice.
