How to Make Vanilla Ice Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
I give it five stars, though I make one really major change. I don't have the patience to wait overnight! You can use one can of sweetened condensed milk that's been chilled and you don't have to wait at all! Put any flavor in it you want. My personal favorite is lemon.

Shrimp Linguine

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
I'm from SC and I know my shrimp. This recipe was Myrtle Beach restaurant good. The photo doesn't do the colors of this rich beautiful dish justice. The only adjustment I made was to leave out the pine nuts because last time I ate them, they left a bitter taste in my mouth for days on end. Thanks, Jessica! Will be making this one again!

Blueberry Buckle

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2009
It was OK. A little overly moist maybe. I think this is because it's actually more of a muffin batter than a bread batter. It was still really good.

Homemade Banana Pudding Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2008
Yes! This is the way to make banana pudding! My only suggestion is that instead of using whole cookies, crush them to a fine crumb and only line the sides of the dish with the whole cookies. So, it's crumbs, bananas, pudding... crumbs, bananas, pudding, then topping. I've read so many recipes that have corn starch in them instead of flour. What?

Tres Leches III

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2008
I haven't made the cake and so I feel I don't have the right to really rate it, but I wanted to comment on the recipe itself because tres leches cake ... the kind made in it's country of origin, Nicaragua, is never made with a butter cake. It's a type of sponge cake frosted with meringue. So, if you are having trouble with this cake, try it with a sponge cake recipe and see if that doesn't solve the problem of it being too dense. Again, I have not tried this particular recipe, so blow this off if you have and love it. I just thought I'd add that it's usually sponge cake.

Too dry. Might work if you don't drain the tomatoes

Oregon Salmon Patties

Better than the ones I'm used to making. My daughter asked me if they were crab cakes. So... thumbs up.

I added the spooned out potatoes to the sour cream mix. Much less waste.

Sunshine Toast

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2008
Been making this for years. Cook on low heat if you want the egg done all the way through. I enjoy it now and then. I also "fry" the part of the bread I cut out. Don't waste it!

Pear Bread II

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2008
I really liked this. But I cut the oil down to 2/3 cup and added 1/3 cup of cinnamon apple sauce. It was just as moist and I didn't miss the extra fat.
