Chocolate Wafer Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2013
I used gluten free chocolate cookies and butter. 6T was way too much butter. It didn't pack into the bottom of the spring form like I had anticipated. Hopefully once the butter hardens in the freezer it will not be so gooey. I will try again but add butter until desired consistency.

White Chili with Ground Turkey

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2013
The flavor of this recipe is great. I would however say that 5 cups of broth is WAY too much. I will try adding it cup by cup next time to my desired thickness as others have suggested. The cinnamon and spice amount was unique and perfectly balanced (I did add salt to taste at the end). I used organic ground beef instead of the turkey which I feel complimented the cinnamon flavor nicely. It was also more rich and I did use all 2 cups of the cheese. We are topping with diced tomatoes, diced avocados, sour cream, cilantro, and tortilla chips. I will make this again!

Extra-Easy Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2012
I added salt to taste to the filling. If I didn't I think it would have been bland. Other than that it was great! Super easy and the kids loved it (amazing).

Skillet Strawberry Pancake

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2011
Really tasty. I blended up the strawberries with maple syrup to make a dipping sauce instead of slicing and baking them with the pancake. Kids loved it!

Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts

So good, not at all like the cake kind you have at the market, they taste like elephant ear dough. Fun and surprisingly easy to make!

Potato and Bean Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2011
The tomatillo enchilada sauce needed a lot of additional seasoning (primarily salt) but other than that... it was fantastic!

Portobello Mushroom Pitas

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2011
I followed the recipe exactly except that I threw in a little olive oil when seasoning the onions and mushrooms before broiling them. I also found that the onions were starting to burn a little after the first 4 minutes so when I flipped the mushrooms I placed the caps on top of a serving mound of the mushrooms to protect them for the remainding 4 minutes. The mushrooms came out super juicy and infused with flavor from steaming the onions at the end.

Drop Biscuits and Gravy

Reviewed: May 23, 2010
Great starter recipe and you can customize it any way you like! I added left over chopped up chicken breasts instead of the sausage, decreased the pepper to 1/4 tsp and increased the salt to 1/4 tsp. It was fab! I used the Joy of Cooking recipe for biscuits but I am sure these ones are fine too. You could even do a vegetarian variety of the gravy with potatoes? What a concept!

Turkey Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
This was super good. I only changed a few things as I went along thinking it could make it better given other reviews. I refrigerated the filling until it was cold so that it didn't make the bottom crust soggy, I salted and peppered the filling to taste once it was all made and before putting it in the fridge (not with the herbs), and I doubled the amount of meat it called for. I also used the Butter Flaky Pie Crust recipe from this site as many other people did. It was so good!!! Our pickiest eater (our 2 year old) ate his share and more!

Easy and good. I didn't have tofu or peas so I threw some black beans and broccoli. Served over brown rice.
