About this Cook
I started my own home based catering business in 1995. It has grown into something I love. I have a lot of fun trying new things and I never put myself in a box by saying I have a specialty.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make children theme cakes or just baking in general, tho I must say making wedding cakes are not my favorite. And there is nothing like "Soul Food" to stir up good memories.
My cooking triumphs
Learning to decorate a cake for years I could barely frost it, I stuck mostly with glazes, but look at me now...lol
My cooking tragedies
5 Tier wedding cake that someone knocked over before the bride and groom ever got to see it and the employees of the facility where it was held denied touching it, had it on video and everything yet would not show us the video. The person that knocked off the top 2 tiers left their finger prints in the frosting trying to put it back on and they graciously used their chewing gum to reattach the head of the bride/groom porcelain topper. Ewwww. Oh well I am over it now, but that cake was a lot of work, 5 tiers, basket weaved.

Absolutely Sinful Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies
These are great cookies, my children call them the brownie cookies. I found to make them a bit sweeter I used half semi-sweet chocolate with the unsweetened chocolate squares and it works better to mix them by hand, using a mixer adds too much air and they become more cake like, but other than that I would definitely recommend this recipe.
