Amaretti

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2010
Sooooo good! I needed to keep them in the oven for a smidget longer (I took them out as soon as I saw a very thin ring of color forming), but as far as the actual taste...mmmm. I should not have been surprised that this would remind me of marzipan since it is basically a mix of almonds and sugar, but it did, and I'm glad. Ahhh marzipan. I have also seen recipes that sandwich jam or chocolate between two amaretti cookies and that looked delish. Might try that next time.

Marietta's White Chocolate Macadamia Biscotti

Reviewed: May 25, 2010
This was really good. I'm surprised that the biscotti doesn't have to sit around to dry--definitely made it easier to make if you're a "I want it and I want it now" kind of person. I suggest making the logs taller so that, once you flip the biscotti on its side, it/they can have a greater surface area to rest on; mine had a hard time standing on its own because it was a bit thin. Also, I added more flour b/c the dough was kind of "goopy" without it. But the taste was great. It looks harder than it is ;)

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
I took others suggestions and cut the amoung of cream cheese in half. I served these at a party on mini blackforest cupcakes and got really great compliments. Surprisingly, people were more interesting in getting the frosting recipe that the cupcake one.

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
Great recipe. I was really happy about the way this recipe turned out. It tasted so "professional", and everyone loved it. Pop these in the oven right before serving so that the bread doesn't harden too quickly. There are really no suggestions for the recipe itself b/c it tastes just right.

Banana Cream Pie III

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
I was surprised at how much I liked this recipe. I'm a true chocoholic, so fruit desserts are usually second rate. (I made it b/c my boyfriend likes banana cream pie.) But it really was great. I suggest that you remember to keep the whipped cream frozen. It may be a bit awkward to spread, but if it warms up too much, it will not go back to its nice thick texture in the fridge. But either way, it's really great, creamy and sweet. I also suggest adding some chocolate shavings on top. Yum!
