Candied Kielbasa

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
This was so good! I have become bored of the same old Kielbasa recipes and needed something different. This definitely hit the spot and everyone loved it. It actually kind of tasted like a sauce that Hickory Farms used to make and it was my husbands favorite, so finding this recipe was great. Will definitely make again especially as a "football food".

These were good. Hubby and daughter liked it. Daughter said it was awesome. I will make again. Maybe next time I'll try using taco seasoning and see how that works out.

Suki's Spinach and Feta Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2010
Great pasta. It was quick and easy and a nice change from your regular jar sauce. The whole family liked it. I am not a fan of mushrooms so I left those out and added about 1/2 cup of ricotta cheese and garlic and onion powder, oregano, parsley and italian seasoning. This dish is a keeper.

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2010
WOW! WOW! WOW! Absolutely delish! I usually wait till everyone has tried a recipe before I rate it but could not wait on this one. I made the sauce and taste tested it before adding the chicken, I found that it was a bit strong (not for me). I think it would have been a bit too powerful for my 10 yr old and hubby's taste', so I added a little bit of water and let it thicken up again...and it's perfect. Once I got the perfect taste down I added the chicken. I find the more you stir, the flour coating tends to fall off. So, stir gently just until all the chicken is coated and leave it alone and the flour coating will hold just fine. I did not add the ginger root or the corn starch just because I did not have any but its not missing it either. I used flour in place of the corn starch by sifting it into the sauce to avoid clumping. This recipe is by far my favorite out of everything I have tried from AllRecipes.com.

Brooklyn Girl's Penne Arrabiata

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
I just made this today. It was absolutely amazing. My daughter who hates any tomato based sauce, loved it and said that it is the best past sauce ever. Hubby says it was great and I need to put this on our "A list". That being said, I did add extra ingredients. I added 1 red bell pepper and 1 onion diced and sauteed with the garlic. I also added dried rosemary, italian seasoning and parsely and 1 can of tomato sauce instead of 1/2 cup. I did not add salt at all because the canned tomatoes and sauce already have plenty. Will be making again.

Caramelized Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2010
OMG this was amazing. Hubby said this is the best chicken I ever made. I read the reviews before hand and made the sauce on the stove top to thicken, I did not add any corn starch because I don't have any but I left it to boil long enough to thicken. I love the asian taste to this more like sweet and sour chicken, daughter also loved it. Will definitely put this one in my book.

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2010
While the flavor of this was great, I won't rate this just yet because this didn't turn out the way it should have. I will definitely try it again. It seemed my dough was actually like a batter and I don't think the yeast is enough. Maybe I miscalculated somewhere because I was doing to much at one time. I ended up going to the recipe exchange to see if someone could help me fix it before it was too late. Someone suggested to remove the batter from the bread machine and knead in more dough by hand and let it sit in a warm area in a greased bowl. I did just that and made it more like a dough consistancy but it never did rise. Over all the flavor was good and my husband who is not a fan of rosemary bread actually enjoyed it very much. My daughter and I enjoyed it aswell. I'll give this another try and will add the entire package of yeast.

Lower Fat Banana Bread II

I made this twice already and my family and I love it. I added vanilla, cinnamon and an extra banana. The second time around I also added walnuts and butter scotch chips and lessened the amount of sugar. Very scrumptious.

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2010
Made this today. So yummy and easy to make. I followed directions exactly but than added a handful of flax seeds. The taste is so much better than store bought bread. I even enjoyed eating the "butt" or end of the bread and that is something I can't do with the store bought kind.

Oatmeal Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
Ok my husband brought home a breadmaker last night, and today I decided to try this recipe. I have NEVER in my life used a bread maker so it was a little tricky for me because I wasn't sure if I needed to change the amount of flour I used. Turns out I need to reduce it by at least 1/2 - 1 cup. Other than the bread rising to much it came out really good. The flavor is great my daughter and I like it...now waiting for hubby to come home so he can try it.

I actually completely changed this recipe. I think the idea was great but changed due to personal preference. I lightly coated with E.V. olive oil and seasoned with the following; Ground Cumin, Cayenne Pepper, Seasoned Salt and dried Thyme. Turned out very well.

Onion Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
Very good rice! Nice change from the plain white and spanish style rice I usually make. It's Friday so needless to say my pantry and fridge are empty, tomorrow is grocery shopping day. I only had just a little bit of everything and a lot of wine that was given to me for X-Mas. I literally had 1 cup of rice, so I paired this with the Modenese Pork Chops on this site. I also had half a cabbage and fried that up. I had some left over potatoes I made, simply sliced thin (almost like chips) with onions, olive oil and herbs and baked in the oven. It actually turned out to be a really good meal all together.

Modenese Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
Absolutely love this recipe. My daughter loved it as well, waiting on the hubby to get home from work, but I'm almost sure he'll think it's A-list material. I used one of the many Wines we received for X-Mas, we're not Wine drinkers in my house, but we always seem to get it as gifts and we end up regifting them. I'm happy that I found a way of being able to use the Wine as I always feel bad giving gifts away.

Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2008
Great recipe. Wouldn't change a thing. The only thing was I made this during the afternoon so I did not put the spinach in and while I had every intention on adding it in before serving for dinner, my family was so hungry and thought it smelled soooo good they didn't want to wait for the spinach. I did add the Vinegar (Balsamic) and it was delish. Will absolutely make this again!
