About this Cook
I am a proud wife and mom to a beautiful little girl and three, YES THREE dogs. I am a stay at home mom and I love to cook. I enjoy spending time with the hubby and my princess. My most favorite part of the day is going for a nice walk with my husband and dogs after dinner when the weather allows. Those walks become extra special when the princess decides to join us.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook anything. I truly enjoy trying out new recipes. I just recently discovered my love for making anything that involves me making dough.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When ever my family gets together, someone (usually my mom) will make a Pernil which is Pork shoulder seasoned and put in the oven for 3-4 hours. I just made one for the first time during the Thanksgiving holiday "09". It has taken me this long to make it because I was worried mine would not come out half as good as my moms. It turned out amazing and I can't wait to make it again. I think making a Pernil during Thanksgiving will be MY new tradition. ;)
My cooking triumphs
For me, anything I make that my family enjoys.
My cooking tragedies
Can't think of anything right now, but I will get back to you all on this. I know I have a few.

Candied Kielbasa
This was so good! I have become bored of the same old Kielbasa recipes and needed something different. This definitely hit the spot and everyone loved it. It actually kind of tasted like a sauce that Hickory Farms used to make and it was my husbands favorite, so finding this recipe was great. Will definitely make again especially as a "football food".

Suki's Spinach and Feta Pasta
Great pasta. It was quick and easy and a nice change from your regular jar sauce. The whole family liked it. I am not a fan of mushrooms so I left those out and added about 1/2 cup of ricotta cheese and garlic and onion powder, oregano, parsley and italian seasoning. This dish is a keeper.

Asian Orange Chicken
WOW! WOW! WOW! Absolutely delish! I usually wait till everyone has tried a recipe before I rate it but could not wait on this one. I made the sauce and taste tested it before adding the chicken, I found that it was a bit strong (not for me). I think it would have been a bit too powerful for my 10 yr old and hubby's taste', so I added a little bit of water and let it thicken up again...and it's perfect. Once I got the perfect taste down I added the chicken. I find the more you stir, the flour coating tends to fall off. So, stir gently just until all the chicken is coated and leave it alone and the flour coating will hold just fine. I did not add the ginger root or the corn starch just because I did not have any but its not missing it either. I used flour in place of the corn starch by sifting it into the sauce to avoid clumping. This recipe is by far my favorite out of everything I have tried from AllRecipes.com.
