About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Cookies, cakes, brownies, you name it (as long as its sweet) I have a particular soft spot when it comes to asian cuisine however. Especially teriyaki.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I got my little cooking quirks from my mom and grandmother, whom i loved to learn from when I was little. We all like to add a little more of what we like (ie sugar, vanilla extract) to whatever were making ^^
My cooking triumphs
My favourite moment lately has been strawberry shortcake. My grandma loves bisquick, but its not sweet at all. It came out PERFECT!!
My cooking tragedies
I tried making a healthy version of cookies for my health class. The teacher said to use whole grain flour rather than white flour. I didn't know what this was and used bran i found in a container at home instead! Oh, the dough was delicious, but as you can guess... it was a solid mass rather than cookies in that tray ^^;

Norwegian Lefse
I ended up having to add quite a bit more flour so they would roll without sticking. Otherwise, they tasted exactly as I remember them from when I was a child! Thank you!

Grandma's Taffy
I tried making this several times and I couldn't get it to ever get to that soft texture. It was always very hard, but still yummy.

Graham Cracker Crust I
It seemed to always need just a bit more butter.
