A Very Popular BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2011
This is really good! I did make some changes to suit our tastes but it was good before changes. I had to leave out the paprika since I was out, added 1 tsp. garlic powder, 1 tbs. molasses, 1 tsp. liquid smoke and I did simmer it on the stove for a while. It never got thick enough so I also added a small amount of corn starch slurry. I won't be buying sauce again!

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2011
These were the best sloppy joes we've ever had. I've never made or even tried homemade sloppy joe sauce. So easy and delicious. I doubled everything hoping for leftovers. The kids were practically eating it out of the pot with a spoon. lol I did add about 5 dashes of worcestershire sauce just to balance the sweetness a bit. I will never buy canned sauce again! Thank you!

Shredded Beef Chimichangas

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
This is sooooo good! I had 3lbs. of stew meat I needed to use so adjusted the other ingredients accordingly. We used the filling for burritos. Everyone loves this and I will be making again soon.

Easy Chicken Taquitos

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
Super easy. I followed the recipe exactly the first time but found them to be a bit bland. The second time I added a teaspoon of taco seasoning, used flour tortillas and added a bit of sour cream (as suggested by other reviewers). Yum.

Southern Fried Chicken Livers

Reviewed: May 22, 2011
Thank you CindyLepp for bringing back a childhood favorite. I used my own flour mixture (flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika and cayenne pepper), that I use for coating everything fried. Coating them in plain flour...then the egg mix...then the seasoned flour, is the key. Perfectly crispy, even the next day.

Boston Baked Beans

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
Thank you! Finally a recipe that isn't doctoring cans of baked beans. The only things I did differently was to cook the bacon first. This recipe is perfect for us. Not overly sweet.

Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
I have made this several times now and it's absolutely delicious! We prefer grape or cherry tomatoes in it. Sometimes I'll add cooked chicken, it makes a great summer dinner.

Golden State Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
This soup is always yummy. I have made it several times now. I usually triple the recipe for a big pot of soup and to have leftovers. Everyone loves it. Even the ones that claimed not to like cream of mushroom soup! I omit the sour cream when serving it as a soup but the leftovers I thicken up, add cooked hamburger and sour cream and serve it over noodles for a stroganoff-ish type dinner. YUM!

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2011
This was delicious! I used a 3 pound bag of boneless, skinless chicken breasts and tripled the sauce, added defrosted stir fry veggies and served over rice. I only added 3 tablespoons of sriracha hot sauce, this was enough spicy for us. Everyone loved this and wants it again soon.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
This was delicious! I was born and raised in Chicago, so I can't say this was exactly like Chicago Italian Beef but it was very close. I did make some changes: Upped the water to 5 cups, added 6 beef bouillon cubes, used Italian seasoning and used 2 packages of dressing mix. Halfway through the cooking time I took out the roast and sliced it as thinly as I could and returned it to the slow cooker to finish cooking. The extra au jus allowed us to be able to dip the sandwiches and serve au jus on the side. Fantastic!

Sweet and Sour Sauce II

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2010
I will never buy s & s sauce again. This was fantastic! I used crushed pineapple instead of tidbits Made as directed it was a little to sweet and not enough sour, for our taste but that was easily fixed with additional vinegar. Served with Cindi's Egg Rolls (from this site), beer battered chicken nuggets and rice. Perfection. Everyone said it tasted just like the s & s sauce served at Chinese restaurants.

Cindi's Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2010
These were very yummy! I did make slight changes. I used a bag of coleslaw mix and left out the pork and the green pepper. Will definitely make these again. I did have a minor problem with my first (test) one. It didn't want to stay together. This was solved by brushing an egg wash on the finale loose end. The rest came out perfect! **Update** I finally made these with pork. I used about 3/4 pound ground pork (still omitted the green pepper). Everyone LOVED them. Served with Sweet and Sour Sauce II (from this site), they were declared the best egg rolls ever eaten.

Aw-some Cole Slaw

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2010
From now on this is the only recipe I'll ever use for coleslaw. The only change I made was using 1 teaspoon of onion powder instead of the sweet onion (I didn't have any). In case anyone was wondering a 16 ounce bag of prepackaged slaw mix worked perfectly and the recipe made PLENTY of sauce.

Rolled Dumplings

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2010
These are wonderful! The only thing I did differently was use more broth, about 8 cups. Then transferred them to homemade chicken soup (I didn't want the soup thickened). YUMMY!

Savory Vegetable Beef Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2010
This is a delicious veggie beef stew. I have made this several times and just got done making it again. I follow the recipe as written. Except for this time, I added a bag of frozen mixed veggies (when adding the potatoes, carrots etc.) and a tad more Italian dressing. It really adds a wonderful flavor.

Soft Onion Sandwich Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2010
These are YUMMY! I will not buy them from the store again. I did alter the recipe slightly. I omitted the dried minced onions completely, upped the onion powder to 1 1/2 teaspoons and did dice and saute a small onion for the tops. I made these for BBQ pulled pork sandwiches but these are so easy to make and so good, I'd make these for anything. lol I definitely will be making these next time for hamburgers.

Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2010
The flavor of this sauce is wonderful! I used it for both shrimp and chicken alfredo. Both were super yummy. Both times I tripled the sauce. With the shrimp, after reading other reviews, I waited till the sauce was done and nice and hot then added the cooked shrimp, covered it and removed from heat. Letting the sauce warm up the shrimp while I cooked the pasta. The shrimp was perfectly done that way. The sauce didn't thicken as much as I would have liked. I bet it would have if I'd have grated my own parm. But overall a huge hit with my family!

Three Cheese Manicotti

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
I made these last night. We loved this recipe! I used jumbo shells that I under cooked (easier to stuff), sprinkled in some garlic powder and some italian seasoning into the cheese blend after reading some reviews saying these were bland and used dried parsley instead of fresh. I didn't add much of the extra spices, maybe a half teaspoon of each. I don't think they were needed at all. I served these with Italian sausage, peppers and onions. They went perfectly together. I got raves for this dinner. The word that was used was scrumptious. I will be making this again and again!

Herbed Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
I made these dumplings last night. We loved them! My daughter even asked for seconds (she NEVER does that). After reading the other reviews: As one reviewer suggested I used (1 heaping tbsp.) Italian Seasoning instead of the individual spices. After reading about them having too much spice and/or being too salty: I omitted the salt completely and doubled the flour mixture (I wanted left overs). I made these dumplings for chicken and dumplings and they were wonderful for that. I will definitely be making these for other things as well.
