Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2012
I followed this recipe exactly. It turned out delicious. The beef was so tender and I strained the liquid and used that over the mashed potatoes. The sauce had a bit of zing to it from the Italian dressing but the ranch made it smooth. I love how easy this was to put together in the morning before I went to work.

Chocolate Bar Fondue

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
This was a great recipe and by far the best chocolate fondue I have ever made. It was a mild, smooth tasting chocolate and the consistency was good for dipping. I followed the recipe as written except used brewed coffee instead of the water and coffee granules. It did however make a lot. I had 15 people in and I have about 2 cups of the mixture left. This may be because there were other things as well not because we didn't like it. I will try to freeze this and save for another time. Thanks for sharing this great recipe.

Beets on the Grill

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2011
The timing was off a bit for me but the beets I had may have been a bit larger. The beets I had were about the size of a small orange and they took between 45 and 60 minutes. Make sure you turn them quite often or they tend to burn. I really liked this recipe and I liked that I didn't have to peel them. I will keep this recipe, especially when I go camping. Thanks for sharing this one.

Smothered Filet Mignon

Very good. I substituted feta for the bleu cheese only because that is what I had on hand. It was excellent with the feta.

I didn't get to use this on pancakes. We put it on ice cream and wow it was delicious. I will definitely make this again. Maybe this time we can try on pancakes or even waffles.

Dry Ranch Style Seasoning for Dip or Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2011
Excellent seasoning. I am so pleased to have found this recipe as I use a fair bit of ranch seasoning packages. The only thing I would change is to cut the salt in half. It is very salty and I added 1/2 tsp dill. All in all a great recipe and very handy.

Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2011
I've made this salad numerous times and it is one of my favorites. I don't add the black olives only because they are not something I like. This salad is good even when I don' t have tomatoes available. I use a dry ranch style seasoning recipe from this site so I always have that seasoning readily available. It is also quite a bit cheaper to make your own seasoning than purchasing the packages. Good salad and has become a standard in our house when I need a pasta salad. Thanks for sharing.

My Best Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2011
The only thing I changed on this recipe was to add Old Bay Seasoning instead of salt and pepper. I liked the suggestions of bacon and will try that next time.I have made this numerous times and it is a good recipe as is if you don't want to change anything.

Loosemeat Sandwiches III

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
I don't usually review a recipe if I have changed it but this time I will. I took the advice of another reviewer and used cola instead of plain water. I know it sounds weird but it was excellent. I did everything else the same. These were very good sandwiches. It will go in my keeper box.

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
I made this last night and it was excellent. So easy to make after work and it was ready for supper. I only had chicken thighs so that is what I used. I didn't peel the potatoes I just scrubbed them and cut them up. I would suggest cutting the potatoes in fairly small pieces depending on the size of the chicken pieces you use. The thighs I used were quite small so they were done a bit before the potatoes were done and this is so delicious you want the potatoes soft.Be sure to baste once everything starts to brown. I also didn't have fresh herbs so I used approximately 1/2 tbsp dried rosemary and 1/2 tsp dried oregano. This was not to much of either of these herbs but I love the flavor of rosemary. I also sprinkled about 1 tsp salt and a sprinkle of lemon pepper because that is what I had handy. I would highly recommend this recipe if you are in a hurry and need to get a meal on the table with little fuss. Thanks for sharing it Sandy.

Homemade Crispy Seasoned French Fries

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
Wow, these were fantastic. I used this recipe for sweet potato fries. I made the batter a bit thinner than the recipe called for by adding about 1 more tbsp of water mixing up the batter and then put the whole cut up potato in and mixed them around. Then I took out one fry at a time with tongs and put it in the hot oil. It took a bit of time to cook them so they wouldn't stick together but it was worth it. I've been looking a long time for a sweet potato fry recipe that was crisp and these are. They aren't skinny fries but if you want crispy fries I don't know how to get them without frying them. Thanks for sharing this recipe. Next time I will use a regular potato.

CARNATION® Classic Five-Minute Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2010
I followed the recipe as written but used pecans instead of walnuts. Delicious. I normally don't like fudge but this was excellent and not so sweet as regular fudge.Be sure to use only 2 cups measured of marshmallows not 2 cups equivalent in ounces.

Texas Ranch Potato Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
I was looking for something different than the Potato Salad I always make and this did not disappoint. It was delicious. I mixed the dressing a day ahead and then mixed the salad just before we ate it. I also added 4 hard boiled eggs(personal preference). The ranch flavor gives a new twist to potato salad. Thanks for the recipe.

Cranberry Apple Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
I made one small change. I mixed the cranberry sauce and the apple pie filling together as another reviewer suggested. What a delicious dessert. I love how easy it was to throw together. I needed a dessert in a hurry and I had some cranberry sauce left so I decided to give this a try. I wouldn't change a thing when I make it next time...and I will definitely make it again. thanks for sharing.

Dilly Beef Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
This was very good. I was a bit worried after I decided to try this out when I had a houseful over but I wasn't disappointed. The flavor was great and I liked the fact that this wasn't so tomatoey as some other Beef on a Bun recipes. Thanks for sharing this recipe it will definitely go into my keeper recipe box.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2010
This banana bread is incredible. I only had 3 bananas so I thought I would half the recipe. Everything went fine until I went to put the batter into pans. After I mixed it up I realized that I hadn't halved the flour and baking soda. I thought about throwing it all away but thought I would try to bake it and see what happened. It was incredible tasting. SO I can hardly wait to make it again but this time the right way. If it tastes half as good as my mistake it will be great. Thanks for this recipe. It is obviously a no fail banana bread.
