Slow Cooker Ham

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2007
This is one of our favorite recipes and have made it a half a dozen times or so. It is so easy to prepare before I go to work in the morning and when I get home it is ready and delicious. What a welcome smell when I walk in the door. Thanks for this recipe.

This soup was fantastic. Normally my son wouldn't be caught dead eating Stroganoff but even after he knew what was in this he ate more and loved it.

Beets on the Grill

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2011
The timing was off a bit for me but the beets I had may have been a bit larger. The beets I had were about the size of a small orange and they took between 45 and 60 minutes. Make sure you turn them quite often or they tend to burn. I really liked this recipe and I liked that I didn't have to peel them. I will keep this recipe, especially when I go camping. Thanks for sharing this one.

Potato Salmon Patties

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
I don't think that people should rate a recipe if they have made a bunch of changes so I didn't change a thing and they were fantastic. These salmon patties have good flavor and there was no trouble getting them to hold together. As another reviewer said these can be served with a Lemon Sauce that is on this site. it is the "Lemon Sauce for Salmon Patties" Yum. Both great recipes. Thanks.

Slow Cooked Ham and Potato Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2013
This is a good recipe. I cut the potatoes quite small because I wanted to be sure that they were cooked really well. I cooked the soup for the full amount of time and the potatoes were definitely not overcooked. Next time I would cook it just a little bit longer. The addition of dill was excellent (we are fans of dill). This will go into my rotation.

Ham Bone Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
This soup has excellent flavor. I had to stretch it for unexpected guests so I added 2 cups of vegetable stock. It was a good addition. I only used 4 cubes chicken bouillon as I thought it would be too salty with 6.I also used black beans instead of kidney beans only because I had to use up the black beans. When I make this soup again I will make this substitution as the black beans were a bit smaller than kidney beans with a better taste. (Personal preference)I cooked it in the slow cooker for 8 hours and cooked the pasta a bit in a separate pot. Then added the pasta at the end for about 1 hour. The pasta swelled up a bit too much so be sure to add it only at the end. It was like minestrone. I have been looking for a good ham bone soup and I found one with this recipe. This soup is very forgiving as you can add any kind of vegetables you like and add or omit the pasta. I don't usually like to rate a recipe that I made changes to. It bugs me when the recipe is changed and then rated but I think this recipe would be good without my changes. Thanks for sharing.

Flax and Sunflower Seed Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
This is an excellent bread. I have added the sunflower seeds at the beginning of the cycle and they are fine. I set this up at night with the timer and it is ready in the morning. I've also used 1/2 sunflower seeds and 1/2 pumpkin seeds. This was great if you like lots of seeds in your bread. I think it would be good with a bit of chopped nuts as well. All in all a great bread machine recipe that turns out every time. Thanks for this one.

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
I made this last night and it was excellent. So easy to make after work and it was ready for supper. I only had chicken thighs so that is what I used. I didn't peel the potatoes I just scrubbed them and cut them up. I would suggest cutting the potatoes in fairly small pieces depending on the size of the chicken pieces you use. The thighs I used were quite small so they were done a bit before the potatoes were done and this is so delicious you want the potatoes soft.Be sure to baste once everything starts to brown. I also didn't have fresh herbs so I used approximately 1/2 tbsp dried rosemary and 1/2 tsp dried oregano. This was not to much of either of these herbs but I love the flavor of rosemary. I also sprinkled about 1 tsp salt and a sprinkle of lemon pepper because that is what I had handy. I would highly recommend this recipe if you are in a hurry and need to get a meal on the table with little fuss. Thanks for sharing it Sandy.

Baked Beans II

I really liked this recipe for baked beans. It is simple to put together and the flavor is very rich. I put all the ingredients in my slow cooker on low for about 5-6 hours. This made the flavors really blend to give it the rich taste. Delicious. good recipe thanks.

Dilly Beef Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
This was very good. I was a bit worried after I decided to try this out when I had a houseful over but I wasn't disappointed. The flavor was great and I liked the fact that this wasn't so tomatoey as some other Beef on a Bun recipes. Thanks for sharing this recipe it will definitely go into my keeper recipe box.
