Butternut Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2010
I really liked the flavor of this soup. I didn't want such a big pot of soup so I used 8 cups of water. That seemed like enough water for the amount of vegetables called for. I only had black beans so I rinsed them well and added them to the soup. It was good so I think thisa soup is fairly forgiving as to the type of beans you add. Excellent fall soup. Thnks for the recipe.

I didn't change a thing on this recipe. When I made this my husband said I could easily quit my current job and become a chef with this recipe. Simple and delicious are 2 of my favorite things. Thanks for this recipe.

Baked Beans II

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
I really liked this recipe for baked beans. It is simple to put together and the flavor is very rich. I put all the ingredients in my slow cooker on low for about 5-6 hours. This made the flavors really blend to give it the rich taste. Delicious. good recipe thanks.

Dilly Beef Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
This was very good. I was a bit worried after I decided to try this out when I had a houseful over but I wasn't disappointed. The flavor was great and I liked the fact that this wasn't so tomatoey as some other Beef on a Bun recipes. Thanks for sharing this recipe it will definitely go into my keeper recipe box.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2010
This banana bread is incredible. I only had 3 bananas so I thought I would half the recipe. Everything went fine until I went to put the batter into pans. After I mixed it up I realized that I hadn't halved the flour and baking soda. I thought about throwing it all away but thought I would try to bake it and see what happened. It was incredible tasting. SO I can hardly wait to make it again but this time the right way. If it tastes half as good as my mistake it will be great. Thanks for this recipe. It is obviously a no fail banana bread.

Creamy Carrot Soup

This soup was so easy to make and it was delicious. Make sure to crush the rosemary enough or the sticks may bother some people. Thanks this was a good recipe for a cold day.

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
I usually have my favorite recipe for Shepherds Pie that I haved used for years but this will definitely go into the rotation. I don't normally like to rate the recipe if I have made changes but the only thing I added was cooked peas to the meat mixture. The layer of mashed carrots was excellent and made such a hearty casserole. Thanks for this one.

Country Green Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2009
Wow! I always enjoy green beans but this was incredible. I didn't have fresh green beans so I used frozen. I also didn't have any bacon or ham but I did have real bacon bits so I threw a handful in. They turned out great. This is a recipe that will go into my keeper recipe box. Thanks for the recipe Linda.

Garlic Butter Sauce I

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2009
This was a good recipe. I only used 1 tsp oregano (personal taste). I had leftover spaghetti and added the butter sauce and then put it on the oven at 350 while I cooked the meat for supper. This allowed the spices to mingle with the butter. It was really good.

Veal Scaloppini with Lemon Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
This recipe was very good. I liked the tartness of the sauce. The recipe as it stands makes a lot of sauce and it isn't very thick. Next time I might try thickening it a bit more and only making a half recipe of the sauce. All in all a good recipe and quick to prepare after work for supper.

Potato Salmon Patties

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
I don't think that people should rate a recipe if they have made a bunch of changes so I didn't change a thing and they were fantastic. These salmon patties have good flavor and there was no trouble getting them to hold together. As another reviewer said these can be served with a Lemon Sauce that is on this site. it is the "Lemon Sauce for Salmon Patties" Yum. Both great recipes. Thanks.

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
Wow. I think I found a new favorite Mushroom Soup recipe. I love the dill flavor and the tartness of the sour cream in this soup. I wouldn't change a thing but I think that if you didn't like the addition of sour cream it would also taste great without it. Thanks for sharing this recipe with us.

Cheddar Ranch Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
I was trying to think of a different way of doing potatoes for supper the other day and when I got this recipe by email I knew what to do. We used this on our baked potatoes and it was absolutely delicious. I don't like to rate recipes after I've changed them but the only thing I added was 3 chopped green onions. I'll try this out on quests the next time we have baked potatoes. Thanks

Ham Bone Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
This soup has excellent flavor. I had to stretch it for unexpected guests so I added 2 cups of vegetable stock. It was a good addition. I only used 4 cubes chicken bouillon as I thought it would be too salty with 6.I also used black beans instead of kidney beans only because I had to use up the black beans. When I make this soup again I will make this substitution as the black beans were a bit smaller than kidney beans with a better taste. (Personal preference)I cooked it in the slow cooker for 8 hours and cooked the pasta a bit in a separate pot. Then added the pasta at the end for about 1 hour. The pasta swelled up a bit too much so be sure to add it only at the end. It was like minestrone. I have been looking for a good ham bone soup and I found one with this recipe. This soup is very forgiving as you can add any kind of vegetables you like and add or omit the pasta. I don't usually like to rate a recipe that I made changes to. It bugs me when the recipe is changed and then rated but I think this recipe would be good without my changes. Thanks for sharing.

These sandwiches were all right. I found them a bit bland so I think I might add a diced apple or some chopped grapes.

Pumpkin Fluff Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
I took this dip to work for a Horror D'Oeuvres lunch and everyone loved it. The ginger snaps were a particular hit. I preferred the apples myself but I'm not a ginger snap fan. I've been asked to share the recipe with everyone that was there. Thanks for this super easy and delicious recipe. I wouldn't change a thing.
