Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2013
I prepared this salad according to the recipe and it was ok. It was a bit different than my usual creamy pasta salad and I will likely stick with my regular but I wouldn't hesitate to try this.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: May 28, 2013
Delicious. I didnt have chicken breasts so I used chicken thighs but othernthan that I followed the instructions exactly and it turned out great. I think next time I may soften the cream cheese before I put it in the slowcooker just so it will mix in a bit better. I am from Canada and the Italian dressing mix is in 28 gram packages so I used 1/2 a pkg which was just right. The sauce was excellent on noodles and this will go into our regular rotation. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Lana's Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2013
This was a good recipe. Very tasty sauce so I did double it to put on our rice. I liked the carrots in the sauce. We could get some extra veggies into our diet this way.

Golden Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2013
I prefer not to review if I had to make a change but I did want to share my experience. I made this as written except that I only had 1 can of golden mushroom so I did have to substitute a can of cream of mushroom. It was delicious. I do think it would be even better with all golden mushroom.

Pasta Primavera

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2013
I was looking for a recipe for pasta to use as a side dish and came across this one. I didn't exactly know what was used as the vegetable soup and all I had was a package of Lipton Tomato Vegetable soup so I thought I would give it a try. I also had a bit of orange pepper and purple onion I wanted to use up so I sautéed them a bit and added them to the sauce at the end. This was really good and easy to prepare. Everyone in the house liked it and it will go into my keeper file. Thanks for the recipe.

This was really good and so simple to make up ahead of time. You can get it ready and then refrigerate it and cook it just before you need it. Yummy.

Herb Roasted Pork Loin and Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2013
Good and tasty. Make sure you use a meat thermometer and take it out of the oven at 145* and let it rest for a while otherwise the roast will let all its juices go. If it rests it will retain its juiciness.

I've never had a loosemeat sandwich before but after making this I will have one again. I am a bit tired of the same old sloppy joe recipe so this was a bit of a change. Thanks.

Slow Cooked Ham and Potato Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2013
This is a good recipe. I cut the potatoes quite small because I wanted to be sure that they were cooked really well. I cooked the soup for the full amount of time and the potatoes were definitely not overcooked. Next time I would cook it just a little bit longer. The addition of dill was excellent (we are fans of dill). This will go into my rotation.

Cucumber Gyro Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2012
I wasn't sure about the sauce with sour cream but it was very good. I followed the hints of others and cut out the seeds of the cucumbers and after I grated them I squeezed them out with a paper towel. It made a difference in my sauce. One of my complaints about homemade tzatziki is the way it gets watery. With this technique it didn't get watery at all and I made it over an hour before we ate. Thanks for this recipe.

Spaghetti Squash Saute

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2012
This was my first experience with spagetti squash and I will definitely be having it again. I cut the squash in half and took out the seeds then placed the squash cut side up in a pie plate that had about 1/4 of a cup of water in it. I microwaved each half separately uncovered for 20 minutes. It was done just right. I then followed this recipe exactly except that I didn't add the onion because I was trying to get my grandson to eat it. Next time I will add the onion. This is a very tasty and easy recipe to follow. Be sure to microwave the squash a few hours ahead of time as it is very hot to handle for quite a while.

French Fried Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2012
Delicious. I had to make fries for more than 2 people so I doubled everything. Water sugar and potatoes. I soaked the potatoes for about 2 hours and then drained them and dried them a bit with a towel. I went with the hint of blanching them for a few minutes and then pulled them out of the oil. Once all the batches were done I could quickly get them crispy and brown. This took about 3 to 5 minutes per batch for the amount I Deep fried. They were so good my husband said that if there had been a five gallon pail full he would have still ate everything there. Thanks for sharing this recipe. I agree With another poster that the warm water is used to dissolve the sugar. I did this with one cup of warm water and then added the rest of the water as cold. I also put a layer of ice cubes over the potatoes as they were soaking. Then when it was time to take them out they were nice and cold.

Tomato and Mozzarella Bites

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2012
I don' like to change a recipe and then rate it but all I changed was the technique and not the ingredients. I wanted to use this as more of a salad so I cut the tomatoes in half and then in very thin slices and then threw in some bocconccini balls that I cut in half. I didn't have fresh basil so I just used my freeze dried stuff and sprinkled it on top of the tomatoes and cheese. I mixed up the dressing and poured some of it over and gently mixed it just a few minutes before serving it. Yummy. The dressing and basil are what make this delicious. I would use grape or cherry tomatoes if I had them next time. I love how versatile this recipe is. It can be an appetizer or a salad.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2012
This was absolutely delicious soup. I followed the recipe exactly except that I only had about 1/4 lb of processed cheese so I used sharp cheddar. I dont usually like to make changes and then rate the recipe but I really dont think that it made that much difference and I wanted to be sure to let everyone know that if you like brocolli cheese soup this is a must try. This is a soup that will go onto my rotation for sure. I've tried many brocolli cheese soups and this is by far the best. Thanks for the recipe.

Zucchini and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2012
I love this recipe. Like another reviewer said be sure to adjust the size of your veggies so that they cook. If the potatoes are too large they zucchini will be mushy by the time they cook. I will definitely put this on my rotation and next time I will add some Parmesan cheese. I think that will taste excellent. Thanks so much for this easy delicious recipe.
