Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2011
Delicious, fluffy and rather easy to make. These are replacing the pancake recipe I used to use. They are THAT good. They are a little teeny bit difficult to flip, but once you get the hang of it, its easy peasy. Try it!

Molasses Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
Yummy, but I must've done something incorrectly as the cookie was either too crumbly and soft, or it was rock hard.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

I only used one 8oz package of cream cheese and I added about 8 tablespoons of cocoa, delicious.

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
I made it a day before Thanksgiving Dinner and kept it in the fridge, which kept it moist. I only made one change which was to substitute the boiling water for coffee; it gave it a nice flavor. I baked it in a Bundt pan for just over 50 minutes. Frosted it with cream cheese and cocoa frosting. Everyone loved it.

Easy to make and absolutely delicious. I added about 1/4 cup of walnuts to give it a nuttier flavor,

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2009
Loved it! Made it as the icing for a Devil's Food Cake and it was devoured. Easy to make, delicious. Halved the recipe and it was enough to frost and fill a 9 inch layer cake.

Devil's Food Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2009
Tasty, moist, and relatively easy to make. It is a bit of a fussy cake as it has to be cooked at the correct temperature and time and if not the center can get a bit droopy. I used two 9 inch pans and it took me 30 minutes to bake it completely. Made this for a friend's birthday party and iced it with the Rich Chocolate Frosting and it was absolutely devoured. Will definitely make again.

Italian Wedding Cookies III

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
Delicious! Very good, but not overly sweet. Just perfect. I didn´t alter a thing, except that I used salted butter and did not add any additional salt.

MMMMM... Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
Yes yes yes Oh yes! Perfect brownies, soft and moist with a flaky upper crust. I added chocolate chips , but they would have been incredibly sweet either way. I did forget to add the salt, but don't think it would have altered the flavor much.

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
These cookies are more than the 12 listed, more like 18 when all is said and done. They expanded ALOT and thus became large and flat plus they didn't come out as chewy as I expected, very hard and brittle (which my boyfriend loves, but which I don't) but it could have been because I used lard and butter and next time I'll just use butter. I will try them again and they will hopefully be soft and chewy. The taste was good, albeit a bit greasy on the lips (again, it could have been the lard).

Very tasty, dense, and keeps for a long time. My friends devoured it and nicknamed it lembas like the filling elf food from Lord of the Rings.

Easy Chocolate Bundt Cake Glaze

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
I used cocoa powder instead and it made the mixture way too hard, so then i added spoonfuls of milk until I got to the desires consistency. Left it refrigerated for about 12 hours and was still soft and yummy. Will probably use less cocoa powder next time as it was incredibly chocolatey. Still, will definitely use this recipe again, thanks.

One Bowl Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
Delicious and so easy to make! We left it baking a little bit longer because we wanted it a bit more crunchy than fudgey. Will definitely make this again (and again and again). *Update* as I don't have the chocolate bars called for in the recipe I substitute 1 cup of semi sweet cocoa powder with 1/3 of vegetable oil to make a cocoa paste which I then add to the recipe. Delicious brownies! I have made them 3 times since and they are always winners.

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
This is a very easy recipe to make; it's fast and really does require only one bowl to make. The batter will be runny but it fluffs up to a nice consistency. I did as some other reviewers suggested and added 1 cup of cocoa instead of what the recipe suggested since I am a chocolate fanatic. I made this cake for a friend's birthday and he loved it so. I will definitely make it again.

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Easy and delicious! I am not a professional baker and yet this was not only easy to make, but its tasty as well. I read some of the reviews and used milk instead of water and added a 1/2 tablespoon more of cornstarch.

Challah I

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2008
This bread requires more baking time than other breads, which I foolishly did not pay attention to the instructions. The challah was underdone in the middle (it was basically dough). Because it is braided the middle does require more baking time and might not be done int he center. Follow the instructions completely. The challah that was salvageable was yummy, though I do agree with other reviewers and think that next time I'll maybe add two more eggs or egg yolks to the dough to make it eggier. Still, it was tasty. Will try it again but with the corrections.
