My favorite things to cook
I'd rather bake, but either way I enjoy making anything elaborate. I love a challenge! I like to try new things, though the family isn't too crazy about that.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The holidays (Christmas & New Year's Eve) are always a big deal. We tend to go all out.
My cooking triumphs
Every time I make something that turns out great, especially if I've tweaked it to be healthier, is a triumph for me. I still have much to learn though!
My cooking tragedies
There have been many tragedies. Some were my own doing, other times the recipe failed me but I have taken each failure as a learning experience and have come to find what we like and don't like food-wise which is still a 'win' for me!

Chocolate Chip Banana Nut Muffins
We love these! I too added a teaspoon of vanilla. I use less sugar since the bananas were very ripe. Didn't have the flax or wheat germ so I opted to use an equal amount of the oats (totaling 1 cup of oats). Due to allergies I had to omit the walnuts. Our new favourite :)

Chicken con Vino e Aglio (with Wine and Garlic)
We liked this as a different way to marinade chicken. Next time I would cook the marinade into a sauce to serve with it.

Grandma Drexler's Bavarian Goulash
I loved this! I used some white wine and chicken stock instead of the water. I subbed Dijon mustard for the powder, ground dill for the seed, and some chili flakes. I wasn't going to serve it with the steamed dumpling so I added potatoes to the dish to thicken and make it more filling. A new fave!
