October has been a very busy month for us.  The first week was filled with my preparations for the USDF/USEF Region 3 Dressage Championship show in Fairburn GA.  This show was 9 hours from our home.  My horse, Adaiah, and I competed, as well as a student and her lovely mare Autumn.  We didn't come home Champions in our respective divisions, but we did have tons of fun and Adaiah & I did earn our USDF Bronze Medal, which is a huge honor!

The next week and weekend my time was filled by volunteering as the show secretary for our local Dressage club.  Dancing Horse Dressage & CT  in Melbourne Fl. hosted a very successful first show our Fall/Winter series.

Last weekend I finally was ready to put together a fun family get together.  My daughter, Sarah, came home for the weekend from The University of Florida.  We were joined on Oct. 20 by my Mother, my 2 sisters and one of my brothers and his family.  Earlier in the week I had baked my famous Halloween cut out cookies and we all spent a wonderful afternoon decorating them!

Time with family always goes so fast.  We all live within about 3 hours of each other with the exception of my oldest brother.  We always seem too busy to see each other, but days like these are so special to me.

Next week is Halloween and there are no small kids around.  I sure do miss the days of pulling the trailer with hay bales and taking Sarah & the neighborhood kids around Trick or Treating.  Those of you with young children...Enjoy!

About Me
I have an active family that enjoys the outdoors with our dogs, cats and horses. I balance my time between my family, a part-time job and our show horses. I have always enjoyed baking, and as an adult I came to love cooking. We prefer to eat in over eating out. Since my daughter was very young, I have hosted an annual cookie decorating party at Christmas. I love to bake Christmas cut-out cookies and let the kids creative minds decorate. Of course I'm right there decorating too.
My favorite things to cook
Cut-out sugar cookies. I make them for Valentines, St. Patricks day or 4-H events, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Halloween, Birthdays and of course Christmas!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas eve dinner. Annual Christmas cookie decorating party.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest triumph is probably my profile picture, my daughter's 16th Birthday cake!
My cooking tragedies
I have had a few bread disasters!
