one dozen

There has to be something said or perhaps done about over consumption. And I don’t focus on just food, but consumption in general. As humans over consumption is not necessary. We develop shows, to show our over consumption. It’s disgusting when you start viewing this unnecessary quest. It has me questioning myself, and in a good way. You can’t change without identifying yourself or the problem. I can’t even bring myself to name the reality shows, most of them are so sadly tragic to watch. And what does it say about your desire to watch each episode? Filling in your quest to over indulge if just for viewing. Isn’t this a disease, perhaps we can cure? No it isn’t a disease it is a desire, for more, too! My daughter is constantly pointing out our country, our abilities and defeats. We don’t seem to handle sharing as we should. If we did we all would be richer. Releasing ones desire to consume, be consumed, over consume, it is a vicious cycle. Start watching yourself. See what you do that you can I.D. as an unnecessary over consumption. I know I am…if not for just logging off Facebook more. It steals me of precious time. We must be bored, lazy, or give me another word for it. I don’t want to disconnect from people. I love people. I avoid self-check- out lines, they rob us, of togetherness, a job, or just eye contact we need. Compassion is a real and serious necessary human state.  So are we not just going through an unnecessary state by over indulging? You tell me? Name me something that you find unnecessary to over indulge in….it doesn’t have to be your problem, but I believe we all share this, it is all our problem in some form or another.

I think you have a point and it is good you are aware of how this influences your life. Keep being sensitive to these influences just don't get consumed by it. (HaHa that was a pun/play on words....getit?)

Would love to hear more from you. I don't get online a lot myself so blog infrequently. I have an odd example of disconnection in my area. We have red light cameras and if there is a violation one gets a citation in the mail with a $100 dollar fine. Many police officers say this undermines their relationships with citizens. Those who consider their jobs as a service, think stopping a motorist fo a violation is a chance to teach. They want to be seen as a member of the community, not "big brother."

That made me laugh alittle...I never thought of a police officer in that way. I guess I've learned something new today! I've heard that if you go to court and challange the ticket on the red light camaras you could win. They can't talk so they throw them out. I don't like red light camaras anyway. Do they really cause us to drive better? Money in the city pocket I suppose. I'd put money in the bucket if they would remove them. It causes to much stress-we don't need it. I loved your post CJ-thanks!
