Classic Fajitas

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2006
This is a simple and delicious recipe! Both me and my husband loved it! It goes great with pico de gallo & homemade salsa. For a little extra spice, I add a few habenero peppers to the mix.

Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2007
I've been looking for a healthy, easy way to make asparagus for a while. This recipe hit the nail on the head! My husband and I both love it, and it's definately going in my recipe box of favorites! I added a full tablespoon of balsamic vinegar for a little extra kick.

Sarge's EZ Pulled Pork BBQ

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
This recipe was awesome. As recommended by others, I added some liquid smoke to the crock pot. It turned out fantastic. I made some German Coleslaw, and we used Bishop's BBQ Sauce (vinegar based bbq sauce). It tasted just like Whitt's BBQ from back home. My husband loved this too. I've already recommended it to all my friends. Thanks for the great recipe!

Creole Cornbread Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
As someone who has never really liked traditional dressing, this recipe was an awesome find! This dressing was slightly spicy and perfect to mix up Thanksgiving dinner with. My husband really enjoyed it as well! We'll be making this again in the future!

Minestrone Soup II

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
Very good recipe. It wasn't the traditional recipe of Minestrone soup that we've had before, but it turned out great! I did add some garlic powder, and I left out the fresh spinach because there wasn't any at my grocery store. We'll be making this again!

Loaded Potato Soup I

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
This recipe turned out great! My husband and I loved it. I made a few changes to it though. I used 6 cups milk and 2 cups half and half because I ran out of milk. I also fried up a 1/2 lb of bacon before cooking the rest of the recipe. After mixing the butter, flour, and milk and bringing to a boil, I added the bacon drippings. I also added some garlic salt. Finally, we chopped the cooked bacon and some green onions and used them as toppings for the soup. It turned out fantastic! I'll be making this again with the small changes mentioned.

Reuben Sandwich I

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
This recipe was very good. We don't often eat Reuben Sandwiches, but this paired with French Onion soup turned out amazing. We did add a little spicy horseradish sauce to the bread in the process. So good my hubby went back for seconds!

Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
This turned out pretty good. It was pretty simple to make. Like other reviewers, I found that the bacon did not crisp up at all. I don't think it hurt too much though.

Roasted Garlic Zucchini and Tomatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
I would've given this five stars, but I thought initially the flavor was a little bland. I added garlic salt and some balsamic vinaigrette. After those ingredients were added, it turned out great!

Southern as You Can Get Collard Greens

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
Great recipe. I did alter it a bit after reading some of the other ratings. I added 1 tbsp of honey to the pot, and I had already used my ham hocks for my black eyed peas. So, I used hog jowl instead. It turned out very good.

New Year Black Eyed Peas

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
I'm giving this recipe 5 stars even though I ended up burning them. If you double the recipe, don't put as much liquid as the recipe tells you. It's way too much! I also added a whole jar of jalapenos that I diced. It tasted very good before I turned up the heat too much to boil off some of the excess water. Oh, well. I will be making again. I'll just be keeping a closer eye on my pot next time!

German Coleslaw

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2010
Great coleslaw recipe! I cut the sugar to 1/2 cup and reduce the oil to 1/2 cup as well. I like ours a little more tart and it doesn't necessarily need all the oil. It's delicious! Pair it with Sarge's EZ Pulled Pork recipe! Don't forget to make an addition and add liquid smoke to the pork recipe though! I've received rave reviews from both of these!
