Traditional Gyro Meat

Followed the recipe exactly using beef and pork (no ground lamb available). Used the exact proportions and the food processor as instructed. This was a bland meatloaf at best. Not very flavorful, crumbly and the wrong texture.

Barbeque Beef Casserole

Excellent recipe, especially when using the changes suggested by other viewers. My husband and I are trying to stay healthy, so we wanted to make this meal good for us as well as tasty. Changes we made: 1) Used 96% fat free beef--if it's available at your grocery store, get it! You don't have to worry about draining the grease off after cooking, and it tastes delicious. 2) Added Worcester sauce and two cloves on minced garlic when browning the meat 3) Used canned tomatoes diced with roasted garlic instead of plain tomatoes. 4) Did not drain the can of tomatoes before adding to the mixture. 5) Used 1 full cup of barbecue sauce (use your favorite sauce here, probably the runny-type sauces won't work as well) 6) Used only 1 bag of cornbread-perfect! 7) Added shredded fat free cheddar cheese to the top after spreading the cornbread mixture. When making this, it took a long time for the vegetables to soften once I added them. Next time I will add them before the beef is completely done. Also, I was worried that the mixture was too liquidy before I put it in the oven. I took out a couple spoonfuls of the liquid, then decided it was too much work. It turned out perfectly. My husband absolutely LOVED this recipe, and said it was his favorite new dish. We will be making this frequently!
