Hurricane Cake

Reviewed: May 22, 2012
WOW!! This cake was amazingly fabulous! I didn't have a chocolate cake mix on hand, but I had a carrot cake mix and thought the combination of coconuts, pecans, etc. would be an excellent blend. No turning back! My husband raved about this until it was gone and then wanted me to bake another. The only other change was I used butter instead of margarine. I had no sticking to the pan. This recipe will be in my TOP 3 list of favorites!! Thank you!

Easy Sausage Gravy and Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2010
Instead of using the sausage crumbles, I cook a roll of JD Sausage. I've used the rest of the ingredients as listed and it's the best biscuits and gravy! Very easy, too!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2014
This recipe is unique and incredibly delicious! My husband was so impressed with the flavor, he said he could eat the whole thing. I followed the recipe exactly as stated, and although I was hoping it would be a thicker sauce, the flavor outshines the fact it was a "thin" mixture. I'm anxious to make this again and perhaps I'll add some corn starch, otherwise this is a recipe I will be repeating several times. Thank you for sharing and I think my Grandma would approve!

Key Lime Cake II

Reviewed: May 22, 2012
Perfect for spring/summer get-togethers! The lemon pudding is what makes the difference. I used fresh squeezed key limes that happen to be in season at the store and I'm glad I did. Will definitely make this recipe again. Thank you!

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2011
WOW...I didn't think making tasteful scones could be so simple! Thank you for an awesome recipe. I've made several batches and have used different ingredients. I've made blueberry scones, white chocolate and pecan, orange/cranberry, raspberry/white chocolate, pumpkin/cinnamon and they are all great!

Rhubarb Dream Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2010
All I can say about this recipe is "WOW!". What a great way to fix rhubarb -- the shortbread crust really enhances the flavors. My husband loves rhubarb, pretty much anything rhubarb, but after he tasted this recipe, he said this is by far his favorite. I fixed it with the ingredients listed, but sprinkled cinnamon on top for a little more color prior to baking. I think next time I may add some tapioca to thicken it just a little, but otherwise, it is oh so delish!! Thank you for an awesome recipe!

Best chicken pot pie recipe! I made no changes to this recipe, it was easy and looked fabulous when it came out of the oven. Best if all, the flavor was exactly what I had been craving and my husband said it surpassed his tastebud's expectations! Definitely will make again!

This is the best banana bread I've ever eaten! I didn't change any of the ingredients. Co-workers enjoyed it and asked for the recipe. My husband loved it and he said it was the moistest banana bread he's ever had. Thank you for sharing such a great recipe! It will be one that I use from here on...

Garden Fresh Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2013
Great tasting tomato soup! I didn't change a thing in the original ingredients outlined for the recipe. But before I began cooking the tomatoes, I washed them and put them into my VitaMix to puree them. Then I put the tomato puree into the stockpot and went from there. I used ground cloves (I didn't have whole clove). My husband loved this soup -- especially with a grilled cheese sandwich! I will definitely make this soup again!

Rhubarb Dream Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2011
I've made this recipe for a couple of get-togethers and everyone has raved about how delicious it tastes. I've been asked for the recipe every time. I think the ingredients that really help set this dessert off is the combination of walnuts with the coconut -- simply great together with the rhubarb. Thank you for a yummy recipe! I've made no substitutions to the ingredients and it's fabulous!

Simple Pork Rib Dry Rub

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2011
I was looking for a very simple recipe for a meat rub and found this which is awesome! You can adjust the "heat" by how much cayenne you use and in my opinion, it is fabulous over pork roasts, ribs, and even beef. I have an electric pressure cooker that I have cooked the roasts in and they come out so tender, juicy and flavorful. This recipe is definitely a keeper!

This recipe is delicious! Easy to make the night before, bake in the morning and everyone raves about how good it is. I've made this recipe several times and have used raspberries instead of blueberries, also strawberries instead of blueberries. All are great and I've not substituted any of the other ingredients. MMM, MMM, Good!!

Rhubarb-Raspberry Crunch

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2009
Awesome blend of sweet and tart with a tastey, crunchy topping! My husband loves rhubarb and says this is the best dish he's ever had. I doubled the ingredients for the topping which was very good and I've substituted strawberries in place of the raspberries and would recommend this combination, too. Delicious summertime treat!
