My Hubby and I
About this Cook
I'm married to the best man in the world! I was never taught to cook, but I knew which cookbooks to buy, so when I got married, those were the first things I got. I love the crock pot- I own three...amazing things! I love to write, sing, read, play piano, cook, and bake!
My favorite things to cook
Roast beef in the slow-cooker, shepherd's pie (special recipie), strawberry pie, corn chili, cheesy creamy mashed potatoes (that are so sinfully delicious, but extremely bad for you), chicken breasts with stuffing on top (baked in the oven, or the slow-cooker), trifle, buttery corn, pizza casserole with sausage, panzarotti's
My favorite family cooking traditions
Roast beef in the crock pot- the best way ever!
My cooking triumphs
My roast beef with gravy...strawberry pie, onion & cheese bread, cheesy creamy mashed potatoes, ground beef casserole (my husband HATES casseroles, any casseroles, but he loved this one! :D )
My cooking tragedies first attempt at bread- without a bread maker. I basically halved the yeast by accident, NOT a good idea!

Easy Cheese Ball II
OH my WORD- this cheese ball was a big hit with dear hubby! ;) I did take everyone's advice and added bacon, but my man doesn't care for bacon so he would have rather had it without. Maybe next time I'll try grated cheese, green pepppers, and onions to roll in it. This recipe definitely tastes better once it is set, so I would recommend making it the night before. I also added some sour cream to give it a better texture, not too much...just enough for it to stick together- it was a bit crumbly! I also added diced onion, which gave it a little oomph! We don't like nuts, but I'm sure it tastes good for people who do! This truly is the best cheese ball!

Ground Beef Shepherd's Pie
This is very tasty! The only thing I did was replace the tomatoes with a can of cream of mushroom soup, and added some corn on top of the ground beef mixture, with potatoes on top. Delicious!

Easy Swedish Pancakes
With a few impro's, these become Dutch pancakes! I make the pancakes following the recipe, but the dutch thing is to throw in slices of cooked sausage in the batter when it is cooking in the pan. Serve with maple syrup- delicious! My grandma made them all the time!
