Quick and Almost-Professional Buttercream Icing

Great icing. Couldn't be easier and I didn't change a thing (other than doubling the recipe to frost a 2 layer cake).

Great cake. Was told by many it was the best they ever had. I omitted the raisins and also cut the oil to 1/2 cup. I bought 2 bags of the pre shredded carrots for 99 cents a bag. I put them in the food processor and got almost exactly 6 cups of grated carrot. Much easier then peeling and then grating carrots!

Cream Cheese Frosting II

I was making this frosting very late at night and accidentaly used 2 sticks of butter rather than one. I added an extra 1/2 cup of powdered sugar to compensate and it turned out perfect! People who don't like cream cheese frosting loved this one because it lacked the overpowering cream cheese taste. Great recipe

Hot Pizza Dip

This is a mainstay in my home. These are great with tortilla chips, pita bread or a loaf of french bread cut into small round slices and toasted!

Baked Lemon Chicken with Mushroom Sauce

This recipe is worth making for the mushroom sauce alone .... I am not usually a fan of mushrooms but it this sauce is wonderful.

Cheddar Biscuits

Excellent recipe. I added a little italian seasoning to the butter I brushed on top ... other than that I wouldn't change a thing. Great Recipe!

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

I used a version of this apple pie recipe and won 2nd place at the San Diego Fair. My girlfriend doesn't like apple pie but she loves this recipe. I use a homemade shortbread crust and use an oatmeal steudel on the top. I have never had a problem with sogginess and I make sure to mix the apples with the caramel and then place them in the crust. Like other reviewers I use cinnamon and even sprinkle some in the bottom of the crust prior to baking. One judge at the fair said it was the best pie he ever tasted!
