About this Cook
I'm a severe diabetic and used to have people cook for me. Well, that wasn't such a good idea. You never know what they are slipping into the dishes. I now cook most of my meals and really enjoy it.
My favorite things to cook
I will cook anything and everything. Every kind of food deserves a chance. Everything should be tried once.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I loved watching my Grandfather cook. He had a way of doing things in the kitchen and making cooking seem really fun. And at 80, he still does. He is always giving me pointers and tips on how to do everything. Sometimes it drives you crazy but he is always right.
My cooking triumphs
I have learned a few things about myself: I am a really good baker, I can cook just about anything, and my roommate will eat anything I make. My cooking triumph would be conquering my roommates picky palate. On most meals that I cook, she will gobble it up. Those meals are a triumph!
My cooking tragedies
One cooking tragedy sticks out the most in my mind: the time I tried to short cut cooking a beef stew. You can't do that. And I will never do it again. Everything was raw and a waste. I was very upset with the whole thing. Never again.

Southern Candied Sweet Potatoes
I printed this recipe out on a whim two Thanksgiving's ago. I'm so glad I did. I started cooking my family's holiday meals and this seemed very easy to follow. It is now a tradition to have these sweet potatoes at all major holidays. I changed nothing and followed the recipe to the exact letter. Thank you for posting. This is my favorite recipe for sweet potatoes, even the kids eat them!

Chicken Wings Pacifica
Love them! But I add some garlic powder and cook them a little longer then an 45 min (more like 75 minutes if they are the scrawny wings and an hour and a half if they they are the big juicey types). The glaze will really get gooey and sticky. They also remind me of the wings my friends mom used to make for us in high school. Same flavors and everything. Thanks for posting.

Strawberry Napoleons
Let me say - YUM! This was a super easy and delicious little treat. Just finished making them and ate one right away. And so did my grandfather. We both loved them. Oh, did I mention I had to make these one handed. I had hand surgery a few weeks ago and I have been going crazy not being able to cook or bake anything. So, thanks for posting this recipe.
