I'm a severe diabetic and used to have people cook for me. Well, that wasn't such a good idea. You never know what they are slipping into the dishes. I now cook most of my meals and really enjoy it.
My favorite things to cook
I will cook anything and everything. Every kind of food deserves a chance. Everything should be tried once.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I loved watching my Grandfather cook. He had a way of doing things in the kitchen and making cooking seem really fun. And at 80, he still does. He is always giving me pointers and tips on how to do everything. Sometimes it drives you crazy but he is always right.
My cooking triumphs
I have learned a few things about myself: I am a really good baker, I can cook just about anything, and my roommate will eat anything I make. My cooking triumph would be conquering my roommates picky palate. On most meals that I cook, she will gobble it up. Those meals are a triumph!
My cooking tragedies
One cooking tragedy sticks out the most in my mind: the time I tried to short cut cooking a beef stew. You can't do that. And I will never do it again. Everything was raw and a waste. I was very upset with the whole thing. Never again.
