About this Cook
I'm 27 years old and have ultimately been in charge of putting dinners on the table since i was about 14. Even though it was challanging at first, it has turned out to be something that I love and I continue to challange myself in the kitchen all the time.
My favorite things to cook
This is my favorite thing to make because it always ends up tasting AWESOME. I will pig out on it everytime. ***drools*** Baby Back Ribs (w modifyed bbq sauce) Rice Pilaff and a Spinach Salad (w homemade dressing) *recipe coming soon
My favorite family cooking traditions
We are Ukranian !! I'm actually making cabbage rolls and perogies with my Grandma this weekend. Canadian Thanksgiving. I think the whole wide world or world wide web would have to agree that Ukranian food is amazing.
My cooking triumphs
I don't know what to write here. I've made tons of amazing meals, but feel the most triumphment when other people are eating them and are tellin me how yummy it is. I'm awesome at making fast meals on a budget, and making people eat their vegetables. lol
My cooking tragedies
The first thing that pops to mind is when i was younger I was baking chocolate chip cookies and used icing sugar instead of flour. It all melted into a thin brownie/fudge like layer. It wasn't so tragic really when we ate it warm with some vanilla ice cream.

Spicy Orange Chicken Wing Sauce
yummers!! i didn't have marmalade, but used a small can of mandarin orange slices. i put the sauce on boneless skinless chicken thighs and baked them. i boiled some vermicelli with leeks, snap peas....just a dash of fish sauce...and put the chicken on top....sooooo goood!

Lemon Leek Roasted Cornish Hens
This recipe is perfect. I love that it has far less sodium because you arn't using any kind of chicken broth. And I love leeks ! I like to make an almond and wild rice stuffing to go in before baking, then serve it with cooked asparagus and lemon dill sauce.
