Sweet Potato, Carrot, Apple, and Red Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
What a yummy soup! I subbed evvo instead of butter like others suggested. I pureed some for me, and left it hearty for my boyfriend, and served with sour cream and some corn muffins. I'll definitely be making this again - lots more times!

Radish Top Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2011
This is delicious - what a nice surprise! I did add garlic powder, salt and pepper to it, and just used water since I didn't have any broth on hand but it was still sooooo good! I'm excited to have a new way to cook all the greens I've been getting from my local farmer's markets, I'm already planning the next time I'll do this.

great recipe! my pound of salmon actually needed about 35-40 min to cook, but the glaze was delicious! Especially after 3 min of broiling!

Coffee Liqueur III

easy and yummy! although I skipped the step of wiping off the "scum" (whatever that is), I didn't see anything weird on the surface.

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
One of the best salads I've had in a while, definitely was perfect for thanksgiving as a healthy side! I added all the sugar, but it was a little sweet, I think next time I'll decrease the sugar. I also subbed in balsamic vinegar and olive oil and walnuts, only because that's what I had available - yum!

Chicken In Basil Cream

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
The cream base was definitely tasty, and I just tossed grilled chicken strips straight into the sauce before serving, but I was disappointed with how salty it turned out. I could've just added too much, but it was too salty. I'm going to try it again and not add any salt.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
This recipe makes so much! I made a loaf and 12 mufffins and they turned out great. I made very few changes, maybe just a little more cinnamon and a pinch of ginger. Yummy!

Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
I hadn't cooked asparagus before and this was an awesome recipe to start with! I exchanged the amounts of balsamic vinegar and soy sauce like other reviewers suggested. So tasty!

Orange-Ginger Tofu Triangles

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
I loved these flavors! I actually would've preferred more of the sauce. I pan fried these after they came out of the oven and loved them!

Runzas (meat pies)

I took the easy way out and did it with crescents - next time I'll do the whole shebang with the bread too! I added cheese to mine - yum!

BBQ Miso Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
Way too salty! I was really looking forward to this, and used low sodium soy sauce, and I usually love salty things. But I had trouble finishing this, unfortunately.

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
This tasted great but the texture wasn't as solid as I was hoping for, more custard-y. The filling also made too much for the crust. I think I'd try less condensed milk next time.

Pumpkin Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
This recipe is awesome - and award winning! I won most creative after I made this for a halloween bake off at work! These tasted so great - the only change I made was to use hazelnuts instead of walnuts. I also need to add that the swirling made them look beautiful. Thanks CroqueMadame!

Cottage Cheese Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
This is delicious. I just added a couple cloves of garlic, and some parsley and basil like others suggested and it turned out great! The first time I tried this it was almost too moist, so I just added slightly less cottage cheese and a tad more oats the next time and it turned out even better.

Broccoli Chicken Casserole II

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
I LOVED the curry in this recipe. Since I don't eat meat, I added a package of morning star farms "chicken" strips to a package of frozen broccoli, made sure to cook both, and drained the broccoli of any additional water. I used 3 tsp curry powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp lemon pepper, a dash of salt and lemon juice and 1/2 can fat free half and half in low fat cream of mushroom soup, brought those to a boil, poured over the broccoli and chicken, then topped with 1 cup cheese on top - it was a hit! The curry added just the right amount of jazz - I will definitely be making this again!

Bachelor's Creamy Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2008
This is a great base for an easy recipe - though I added 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg and 2 tbsp dark brown sugar as I'd seen others do and it definitely helped! I couldn't find cream of potato soup so I subbed lowfat butternut squash soup to keep with the fall theme, and the flavors mixed wonderfully - I'm keeping this adjusted recipe on hand!
