Try It You'll Like It Kraut Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2012
Very good recipe I do not understand what another poster meant by "too sweet" ..there was only 1 Tablespoon brown sugar added and an apple I browned my ribs in 1/2 butter and 1/2 oil also used 4 potatoes and ditched the carrots.. potatoes are made to go wuth kraut giving it a special flavor and texture as it slow cooks next time may add 1 or 2 cloves minced garlic Delicious!

Spool Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2012
I have been making these cookies for over 35 years they are Delicious they are NOT greasy I do use real butter not margerine and 41/2 cups flour 2 teaspoons vanilla sometimes 1 t vanilla and 1 t almond extract bake just until edges begin to brown they are pure heaven they do not have POOLS of oil as one person stated and Ihave never met anyone who dod not truly enjoy them If you are going to go thru the trouble of making real sugar cookies then go all the way or stick to some crackers

Grecian Baklava

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
More like the ones I had in the Greek coffee house when I went downstairs to get my Dad's Greek morning paper in Greektown, Chicago Ill. The orange juice gives it a more authentic taste and it was always made with walnuts I prefer no nutmeg and more cinnamon

Buttermilk Potato Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
Fantasticconcept, makes great porkchops also.Always pound breasts if large and cut in half & pound pork chops thin before marinating Anyone who really cooks, knows to adjust amounts and seasonings to their own tastes. for all recipes Try crushed saltines, rice krispies, or breadcrums with half flour for differnt coatings We do like the potato flakes I add seeasonings like garlic powder and 1 teaspoon more salt this recipe makes economical pork steaks tender and terrific! Thanks!

Best Bean Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2013
Good basic recipe just needs a little tweaking... Way too much sugar cut the sugar in half and I used Splenda.. we don't care for garbanzo beans so I use either butter beans or wax beans to keep the colors bright and interesting also minced a fat clove of garlic. This is great with Barbecue chicken pork chops even hamburgers on the grill refreshing and light for summer

Grilled Greek-Style Zucchini

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2007
This recipe was refreshing. I have been cooking and collecting recipes for over 50years and also have cookbooks dating back over 125 years. I also love ethnic cooking as I am half Italain and half Polish and raised Greek!! I truly love authentic Greek & Italian recipes My Greek step-dad was a wonderful cook . What I have learned is to basically read thru a recipe if it sounds good and always adjust things to your taste. You get what you put into it ...

Lazy Lasagna I

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2005
This is a wonderful recipe the sour cream really makes it special I add 2 beaten eggs and 1/2cup parmesan cheese to the cottage cheese mix So good! No need to boil the noodles and so much more flavor as it bakes the noodles absorbs the flavors The secret is to add 2/3 to 1 cup water and then let it stand 15-20 minutes! can add Italian sausage, ground beef mushrooms, you like I usually make my own sauce when I make this recipe we like more sauce than called for
