These bars are FANTASTIC!!added 1 teaspoon almond flavoring and a pinch of salt to dough I used a whole jar of raspberry jam and chopped almonds and sprinkled them over the jam(warmed jam in microwave 10 seconds or so to make easy spreading then sprinkled reserved mixture on top really nice yet easy dessert would be good with apricot jam and walnuts with a teaspoon of vanilla in dough some coconut might be nice over the jam also

Great recipe so good if left to mellow in the refrigerator I use Splenda instead of sugar and apple cider vinegar The sunflower seeds put it over the top and very healthy great for summer Barbecues

Guluptsie (Cabbage Rolls)

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2013
This is the way cabbage rolls should be made My Grandma is from Poland I do not use red pepper flakes or dill weed But I Do use 1 teaspoon garlic powder or 2 cloves minced garlic 2 bay leaves and once in awhile a good pinch of thyme also a splash of apple cider vinegar or 1/2 of a squeezed lemon and maybe a teaspoon or 2 of white or brown sugar(I cheat and use Splenda) to make it a little zesty and bring out flavors very subtly all in all this recipe is and with or without tomatoes but I like it with

This recipe is just too plain needs some flavor tastes like boiled ground beef I use half pork sausage and half ground beef I semi- drain but never rinse my kraut or else it will be tasteless also, needs a little lemon juice maybe up to a Tablespoon brown or white sugar a teaspoon garlic powder or 2 cloves minced garlic a couple of bay leaves can also add 1/2-1 teaspoon thyme a couple of chicken bouillon cubes added to the water or a can of chicken broth instead of water many times I add a can of diced tomatoes on top along with sprinkling of salt & pepper COOK with passion COOK with love needs effort put into it

Best Bean Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2013
Good basic recipe just needs a little tweaking... Way too much sugar cut the sugar in half and I used Splenda.. we don't care for garbanzo beans so I use either butter beans or wax beans to keep the colors bright and interesting also minced a fat clove of garlic. This is great with Barbecue chicken pork chops even hamburgers on the grill refreshing and light for summer

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2012
Very good recipe I do not understand what another poster meant by "too sweet" ..there was only 1 Tablespoon brown sugar added and an apple I browned my ribs in 1/2 butter and 1/2 oil also used 4 potatoes and ditched the carrots.. potatoes are made to go wuth kraut giving it a special flavor and texture as it slow cooks next time may add 1 or 2 cloves minced garlic Delicious!

Way way too bland and not enough water or broth . I agree woith the other cook I am Italian, my Grandparents came from Italy I use pork neckbones or pork ribs or rib ends and lots of herbs & spices like oregano, basil, thyme,a couple of bay leaves a good pinch of red pepper flakes (NOT cayenne pepper) I always sweeten my gravy with a good pinch of sugar sometimes I add a little fennel seed or anise seed and always use good quality plum or Italian style tomatoes
