Good basic recipe Recipes are meant as a guide can can your own touches 2 Tablespoons sugar is plenty for me I usually use Splenda or Sugar twin you can also use dill and/or garlic or garlic powder After browsing thru these recipes, I found found some that use up to 2 cups of sugar making it like candy not a salad

Grandma's Old Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2010
Way way too bland and not enough water or broth . I agree woith the other cook I am Italian, my Grandparents came from Italy I use pork neckbones or pork ribs or rib ends and lots of herbs & spices like oregano, basil, thyme,a couple of bay leaves a good pinch of red pepper flakes (NOT cayenne pepper) I always sweeten my gravy with a good pinch of sugar sometimes I add a little fennel seed or anise seed and always use good quality plum or Italian style tomatoes

Grecian Baklava

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
More like the ones I had in the Greek coffee house when I went downstairs to get my Dad's Greek morning paper in Greektown, Chicago Ill. The orange juice gives it a more authentic taste and it was always made with walnuts I prefer no nutmeg and more cinnamon

Buttermilk Potato Fried Chicken

Fantasticconcept, makes great porkchops also.Always pound breasts if large and cut in half & pound pork chops thin before marinating Anyone who really cooks, knows to adjust amounts and seasonings to their own tastes. for all recipes Try crushed saltines, rice krispies, or breadcrums with half flour for differnt coatings We do like the potato flakes I add seeasonings like garlic powder and 1 teaspoon more salt this recipe makes economical pork steaks tender and terrific! Thanks!

Grilled Greek-Style Zucchini

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2007
This recipe was refreshing. I have been cooking and collecting recipes for over 50years and also have cookbooks dating back over 125 years. I also love ethnic cooking as I am half Italain and half Polish and raised Greek!! I truly love authentic Greek & Italian recipes My Greek step-dad was a wonderful cook . What I have learned is to basically read thru a recipe if it sounds good and always adjust things to your taste. You get what you put into it ...
