The Old Boy's Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
100% delicious. used a crumble topping. tastes GREAT, easy to make, impatient me wanted to eat the pie right when i took it out of the oven -- BAD move, it's not done cooking yet, let it finish cooking after it's out of the oven unless you like watery insides and crunchy apples.

Gingerbread Boys

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
After I read reviews of how great this recipe is I was pretty disappointed. I don't like citrus, so I didn't do the orange zest; I did the molasses sub; did some brown sugar. As others have said, the cookies spread out a LOT, much more than I expected. They puffed up and then flattened out after I left them on the cookie sheet for a while. They're great out of the oven but I didn't like baked ones two days later as much. Mine were also greasy after coming out of the oven (dab-a-napkin-on-the-cookie greasy), which were completely unappealing. I don't like how they're so flat and expand so much. I wouldn't bake these again.

GA Peach Pound Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
omg! this was SO GOOD! i used strawberries and cut the recipe in half so I could bake it in one loaf pan. i made it and left it out overnight. when i woke up, i freaked out because it was hard and i thought it came out dry -- but it had developed a GREAT crunchy crust even though I didn't put sugar on the bottom of the pan and it was VERY moist and tasty on the inside. next time i'll put in more strawberries :) my coworkers gobbled it up real quick. definitely a recipe to keep and i encourage everyone to make it! make double! **UPDATE**: ok, that "more strawberries" thing isn't a good idea -- I put too many slices of strawberry in (I didn't measure) and there wasn't enough space for the cake to hold together between the fruit. in short the cake broke in half horizontally and the bottom is just all strawberries. It's ok, it still tastes good :) just make sure not to put too much fruit.
