Pumpkin Muffins II

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
These just came out of my oven, and they are great! I halved the recipe which made a dozen muffins. I used canned pumpkin, added rolled oats and used half white and half brown sugar. These are sweet, but not too sweet and they're very moist!

Balsamic Vinegar and Olive Oil Dressing

This was just okay for us. I made it as stated, and there was just way too much vinegar in it for me.

Perfect Pie Crust II

I used this recipe for ALL of our Thanksgiving pies and they turned out great! I also used it for a chicken pot pie (I cut the sugar in half), also awesome.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
Oh these are SO GOOD!! I made them on Tuesday, and they held up beautifully until Thursday afternoon (Thanksgiving). Just whatever you do, don't cover them up. It will cause the icing to get melty and gooey. My icing had a nice hard texture and everyone loved it!

Campbell's® Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
Ah the holiday green bean casserole... I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 not for the taste (which is always good!), but for the amount of milk. Why so much? I like my casserole on the thicker side and this was more of a runny mess. Less milk next time! :)

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
This bread was my lifesaver this Thanksgiving! I was in charge of lunch for the first time this year, and due to allergies I couldn't use ANY of the premade stuffings that you buy in the store. Sooo.... on Saturday I started the first of my 5 loaves of this bread. It is so good! We even ended up cutting into one of the loaves before even making it into stuffing. Thank you so so much! This is now my number 1 bread recipe.

Magic Peanut Butter Middles

As good as these cookies were... and they were GOOD!... I doubt I will be making them very often. It took me an hour and a half from start to finish, and my final product was approx. 25 cookies. I was a little disappointed at that. However, they were very good!

Sausage Potato Medley

It needs a little more as far as seasonings go, but other than that it was a success. I'm sure I'll be using it again. *EDIT* I forgot to mention that I served it topped with scrambled eggs with cheese, YUM!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
I just realized that I haven't rated this recipe yet, but I've used it many times with great results. It is THE pancake recipe in our house. I always double the ingredients (We love biiig pancakes), but other than that I make no changes. I have added some applesauce and cinnamon a couple of times and come out with some really good apple-cinnamon pancakes though. A+ in my book, thanks!

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2008
Mmmm... These made my house smell so good! I followed the recipe almost exactly, except for 2 things. I only used 1/2 cup of butter (1 stick) that's more than enough. I was craving chocolate and I LOVE oatmeal, so I decided to make these into choco-oatmeal cookies. All I added was 3TBSP of Hershey's cocoa. If you want to use baking squares instead it equals out to 1 square. Delicious!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2008
Oh WOW. That's really all I have to say about this soup. It's more of a chowder than a soup (which I wanted!), and yes it does take a while to prepare it, but it's sooo worth it. This is my new favorite soup. :)

Bread Machine Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2008
If you don't have any dry milk powder (like me!), omit it and replace the 1 cup of water with one cup of milk. This is the only change I made and these came out wonderful! I used the recipe for hamburger buns instead of dinner rolls, so instead of making 12 small rolls, I made 6 big buns. They were the perfect size, and they came out so flaky no one believed that I had whipped them up with my bread machine! Thanks!

Bread Machine Bagels

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2008
I don't think I'll ever be buying bagels ever again! I've made 2 batches so far (1 cheese and one with sea salt) and my family is in love! I add baking soda when I boil them to help give them a nice texture. I would suggest placing foil on your baking sheet though, because they're very hard to get off otherwise. Awesome recipe!

Whole Wheat Apple Pancakes with Brown Sugar Glaze

I loved these! I did half the baking soda, and I used applesauce since I was out of apples. I made just the pancakes and they were awesome drizzled with syrup. Thanks!

Banana Pancakes I

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
I have NO idea what happened to my mixture, but after waiting 15 minutes for 1 side of the pancake to brown so I could flip it, I got frustrated and used another recipe. If it took that long for one, I had no idea how long it would take to make them all! On the plus side, I have some nice banana mix in my fridge. :) Anyone know what could have happened??

Mom's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2008
This mac and cheese was sooo good! I'm a dork and I ran out of milk, so I had to substitute(half and half, a scoop of sour cream...) and I used corn flakes instead of bread crumbs (allergy). But even with those changes it was the greatest. We had no leftovers at all!

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
Let me start of by saying that I don't like pork chops. I've had them baked, fried, breaded you name it. I just don't like them... So when I tell you that I actually had about half of my chop, that's actually pretty amazing. I was looking in my freezer yesterday and dreading taking out more ground beef. I was bored of it. That's when I noticed the pork chops... I decided to look on here and see if I could find a recipe that I had never had before. Well, I think it's safe to say I had never had apple pork chops. After reading the reviews, I left out the nuts, tripled the sauce and I didn't have apples, so I used applesauce. I also marinaded the chops for about an hour in orange juice. All together this recipe took me about 2 hours. It was worth it when I saw my fiancee's face. He did what I figured he would. He turned his nose up and said "APPLE SAUCE pork chops? I don't know..." Then he took a bite. His entire face changed, I kid you not. These were the most tender chops I have ever had and the sauce was absolutely awesome. PLUS it made my whole kitchen smell like Christmas dinner. How do you beat that??

Lemon Sugar Tea Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
So... I didn't have any white flour, all I had was wheat flour so MAYBE that's what my problem was (I don't know!), but these were a little on the dry side for me. Would that affect them at all? However, I did love the taste of them, not too sweet, not too sour. The sugar on the tops gave them a nice crunch too. I'll try again with white flour.
