Black Forest Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2013
A tad sweet for my liking, but I definitely love how it came out. Will be one of the main cookie recipes I'll use from here on out

Vegetarian Korma

To make this recipe truly perfect, I'd suggest pre-cooking the potatoes/carrots though

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2010
Followed this recipe to a T, and it was awesome. But to me, it was more of a two bowl cake, but the one with the dry ingredients is technically clean (heh)

To be fair, I don't have any split peas so I just instead, use 2 cups frozen peas. it was still awesome

Perfect Sushi Rice

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
i would rate this 5 stars but i made a few (slight) changes. I cooked the rice with the vinegar/rice/salt. Why not? And unless you want really sour rice, reduce both the vinegar/sugar by roughly half [feel free to add more vinegar though]

Panna Cotta

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2010
the first time I made pudding with gelatin and it was great considering the only work that needed to be done is to heat the milk to dissolve the "exploded" gelatin granules

Lemon Square Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2010
These were AWESOME, but I'll probably reduce the butter so that it won't be that high in calories or find another sort of crust to use [p.s: the butter would make it too wet and to make it dough-ish, too much of it would be made]

Popovers

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
one star knocked off cause it was like pancake batter in the middle, but partially cooked batter so it was okay. Would lower the time of it cooking at 450F to 10minutes since 20 minutes browns it too much on the outside where as it only books partially inside. [cooking it further at 350 almost burnt mine]

Lemon Thyme Rice

Reviewed: May 26, 2010
It was average....but I can't really say since i followed what other people said and just used 1 tsp dried thyme rather than 1 tbsp dried thyme, since I thought that was just a typo of fresh instead of thyme. And definitely saute some onions/garlic cloves before adding in the rice, it will taste a lot nicer

Hot German Potato Salad III

Reviewed: May 21, 2010
It was AWESOME, and so simple! I didn't have bacon, so to substitute for its fat being used for roux to thicken the gravy/dressing, I used 1 tbsp butter in place. Needed a little dressing, so I added in a little more sugar/salt/vinegar. P.S: While I hate people who add in or change one crucial ingredient that causes the flavor of the recipe to change and then claim "BEST RECIPE EVER", but a little mustard could never hurt, could it?

Canned Apple Pie Filling

Without any changes, this is worth 5 stars. With some changes (more cinnamon/nutmeg), it is worth all the stars in the world!

This was so awesome. And partially healthy! (w/o the oil obvs) Well, that is if you don't end up eating 4 servings like I did :)

I didn't know how to make the fancy blooming onion ring trick as mine fell apart when I boiled it. I used it to make onion rings and it was delicious :D

Hong Kong Style Egg Tarts

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2010
Four stars as it was way too "eggy'. I used eight eggs [heh] and it was too eggy. But once chilled, it is pretty good, but I'd still only use seven eggs

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
wow, I have been searching for a brownie recipe that was just chocolate cake in disguise and WOW, this is so good. I found mine to be too thin since I halved this and baked it in a 9 inch pan. It was so awesome though, wished didn't halve it.

French Silk Chocolate Pie I

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
Like, wowwwwwwwwwwwww. So good and so simple, I made it in less than 15 minutes since I popped it into the freezer. I followed what someone else said and whipped the egg whites into meringue before folding it in, made sense to me. I used cocoa powder since the choc. chips I had on hand just wouldn't melt for some reason... Had to add 2 tbsp hot water to smooth the end out since the cocoa powder made it a paste but afterwards, everything went smooth and ended up being super awesome. Will use lesser butter/sugar/cocoa powder the next time though P.S: Didn't use a pie crust since I was too lazy to make one, didn't need one anyways since you can just scoop this into a bowl and make it like a fancy pudding
