Grilled Garlic and Herb Shrimp

The sugar ruined this for me, I couldn't even eat it. I will make it again, but without the brown sugar.

Zucchini Apple Bread

I love quick breads, but I thought this one was much too sweet. If I make it again I will reduce the sugar by half.

Storybook Gingerbread Men

Good recipe. You can really taste the molasses in these. They aren't very "spicy," which I like. They are not overpoweringly sweet, either, so they taste even better with icing. Dough was quite sticky, even straight out of the fridge; I had to add flour before I was able to roll it.

Grain and Nut Whole Wheat Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
These are fantastic! This is the best whole-wheat pancake recipe I've found, and I've tried several. After having these, I never want to eat white flour pancakes again. 5 stars with these alterations: add 1 tsp. each vanilla and cinnamon, and use 2 eggs. I also subbed fat-free yogurt for the buttermilk and pecans for walnuts, because that's what I had on hand, and they turned out fine. I cook the whole batch and save leftovers to reheat in the toaster.

Pumpkin Wheat Honey Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
I used a whole cup of fresh cooked and pureed pumpkin and these were really moist and light. You can't even tell they're made with whole wheat. DH adores pumpkin and I'm not that keen but we both enjoyed these.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

As-is 4 stars, but 5 with alterations! I add corn, garlic powder, and dried parsley, omitting the celery seed. I also halve the celery. 1.5x sauce is perfect. A great tip my mum gave me is to pour a handful of dry beans in the bottom pie crust before baking to prevent it from puffing up.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
These were very rich and chocolaty. I followed prev. suggestions used half-brown and half-white sugar, and baked for only 8 minutes to keep them soft. Personally, I prefer a more chewy texture, but these were still a great chocolate fix. If I make them again I'll double the nuts - I hate it when you only get one or two in a whole cookie.

Spiced Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2009
Delish! I used hot mango chutney and omitted raisins. Didn't have ginger so I followed a previous reviewer's tip and added a dash of cinnamon. After browning, I threw it in the crock pot with potatoes and carrots, and doubled the sauce. I was so sick of my usual, boring pot roast, and this is the perfect antidote! Definitely the yummiest thing to come out of my crockpot in a while!

Holiday BAKER'S® ONE BOWL Brownies

Divine! Came out perfectly fudgy with chewy edges after 32 minutes. I didn't bother with cutting out shapes or dusting with powdered sugar.

Cambodian Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2009
Great tasting dish! Reminds my husband of the red curry at our fave Thai restaurant. I always add lots of veggies: bell pepper, broccoli, bamboo, snow peas; whatever I have on hand. Also I omit the sugar because I think coconut milk is plenty sweet. I use Lite coconut milk and it still tastes great.

Fresh Herb Dip

I found this waaay to garlicky for my taste, and I didn't even use the full amount. I did halve the recipe so maybe that had something to do with it.
