Mom's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2003
I stopped looking for a soft, yummy chocolate chip cookie recipe once i tried this one. Very good flavor, they turn out thick (not thin like some recipes) and soft, too! Excellent chocolate chip cookie.

Chocolate Pretzel Rings

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
Easy, yummy, and fun! I made mine with the waffle square shaped pretzels, rolo candies, and an m&m on top. Everyone loved them, from the grandparents down to the kids at my daughter's first communion party. Definitely will make again!

Aunt Johnnie's Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2004
This cake is delicious! I did use 1 tsp. of vanilla and 1 tsp. of almond extract instead of the 2 tsp. of almond extract. I also added 1 tsp. of cinnamon because I was serving it with spiced peaches. It came out wonderful. It makes a large cake that has a sweet crunchy outside and a dense, smooth inside. My husband took the leftover cake (plain) to work and received many compliments. I was a bit skeptical about baking it at such a low temperature, but it turned out perfect. Will make again for sure!

Cathy's Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2005
This is an excellent banana bread recipe. I just made it again for the second time! It is very moist, sweeet, and delicious! I added chopped pecans because banana bread should be made with nuts, and it was so yummy. I made this recipe into mini muffins (without nuts) for my kids, and they loved them, especially my 11 month old daughter! Any time she sees one she reaches out her hand for one and puts up a huge fuss. So good.

Sauteed Apples

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2005
Wow! Made these tonight to go with the pancakes and eggs we had for dinner. If I could give this recipe more than five stars, I would. It is so simple and so incredibly delicious. My husband and I both thought they tasted wonderful on top of the pancakes, and my 5 year old son just ate them right off the plate. A definite keeper that will be made often in my house from now on. So easy and yet so impressive. You will get lots of oohs and aaaahs if you make this!

This was easy and delicious! I didn't want a bubbly punch for my brunch so I gave this one a try. Wow! From my son to my husband's grandparents, everyone loved it. I made a half batch and it was all gone! Delicious.

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Reviewed: May 22, 2007
I made this for my son's first communion party and it was the first appetizer to disappear! We made it before we left, then transferred them to the crock pot and went to the church. when we came home they were hot and ready and delicious!!! We did broil them for just a bit to get them crispy, but everything else was just as the recipe stated. Will make this again and again!!!

Pineapple Sirloin Skewers

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2007
This is very good! I bought a cheaper cut of meat, and could only marinate for three hours, but it was still very tasty. I added a chopped red pepper to the skewers and not only did they taste great, but they looked pretty also. Definitely will put this into my grill rotation of recipes!

Rick's Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2007
This is an excellent frosting. I substituted half unsalted butter and added 2 teaspoons cinnamon for a cinnamon buttercream frosting, and it was delicious! It made a lot, too! I frosted three cakes, each a two layer cake, and it filled and frosted all three! (It was a three tiered cake, one nine inches, one 7 inches, one 5 inches.) This will be my new buttercream recipe, Very good!

Mocha Madness

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
I made this recipe because I had some leftover sweetened condensed milk from another recipe. Boy am I gald I did! This is an absolutely delicious and easy mocha. I scaled mine to one serving and put the chocolate syrup and the sweetened condensed milk right in the mug. Then I microwaved it for about 20 seconds to warm it up. Then I brewed the coffee right into the mug (I have a single serve coffee brewer). A quick stir with a spoon to combine everything and a splash of half and half and this drink was delicious! Easy and yummy. Tastes as good as a coffee house mocha in my opinion.

Half and Halfs

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
These were delicious and easy to make. I followed the recipe exactly except I used semi-sweet chocolate chips and turned the oven up to 350ºF. They took just about 9 minutes to bake. They really do keep their shape, very little spreading. They taste fabulous, and they look cool. Everyone who saw them wanted to know about them and wanted to try them. A very fun AND yummy recipe! My batch made 5 1/2 dozen smaller cookies.

Sugar Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
These are delicious! I have made them several times now and I always get compliments on them. I have also been asked for the recipe many times. Really excellent and easy to prepare. You could pay a lot of money for these if you bought them in a store, but made yourself for a very reasonable price!

Easy Iced Coffee

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
This recipe is fantastic. So fast, so easy, but most importantly, so delicious! I used a little more sugar (I like my coffee sweet) and half fat free half and half and half milk. So yummy! It was frothy and creamy and so pretty in the glass, too. I highly recommend this recipe!

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
Not only does this icing look fantastic, but it is super easy to work with and tastes great! I will definitely use it from now on for cookies that look and taste great! I needed and extra teaspoon of milk, but otherwise made the recipe exactly as stated. I also tried it with vanilla and it is good that way, too. What I love is that you can spread this on the cookie with a knife, and after you let it set, it smoothes out and looks shiny and perfect. Highly, highly recommend this recipe!

Simple White Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2010
This was excellent cake! I have been searching for a simple homemade white cake that tastes yummy, and this is it. I made the recipe exactly as stated and it came out great! I actually liked it better on the second day, when it seemed to get a little sturdier. The flavor is very simple and clean, perfect for a flavored frosting to shine. I can see myself substituting lemon extract or almond extract for the vanilla or in addition to the vanilla. I think this will be a very versatile cake that I will make often!

Peanut Butter and Cream Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
Wow! Delicious and rich! I made this to take to a neighbor for dessert and it was well received by all the adults there! Rich, fudgy, peanut buttery! I was worried at first that the topping would be overpowering, because there is so much, but it was perfect. It seemed like a creamy peanut butter pie with a brownie crust (though thicker than a crust!) If you are a peanut butter and chocolte lover, this recipe is for you!

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
I made these this morning to take to a family brunch. I made the almond cherry version and this was my first time ever making scones. They turned out amazing!!! I made it exactly as stated except that I added about a tablespoon of almond paste with the butter and used turbinado sugar to sprinkle on top instead of regular granulated sugar. Everyone who ate one said they were amazing. My father-in-law said that he didn't usually like scones because they were usually dry, but these were moist and yummy. Definitely will make these again and again.
